Mine's still in progress. I really hope I can finish it before the weekend. It's more than 5k words, and without the context of the challenge I don't think anyone would get it. Even *with* the challenge it's never going to be a popular story.

Doesn't matter. Most of my stories are written to tickle my own fancy. I wrote about Wendy and Tinkerbell in a New Jersey Zombie Apocalypse, so how much worse could it be? LOL!

I've finished my first version! Well, it's the third attempt. A bit of proofreading and then I'll submit it.

I never consider anything that I write a "flop". If I enjoyed writing it, then that's all that matters

I can't say with absolute certainty that I enjoyed writing my story. I found the stream of consciousness very intense to write, and trying to create a cyberpunk city that felt real and different, without going full infodump, was a challenge.

But once I started on it - once I'd thought of the concept, in fact - I knew I'd have to finish it. It took me three tries to get the plotting right, and I still feel like it could have used another 5k words in the second third.

Still, I'm not unhappy with it, even if I'm the only person who ever reads the damn thing until the end.

I can’t even remember when I submitted my story!

I’ve posted two other since then for Summer Lovin’, and I’ve written one for Crime and Punishment. I’m putting it on hold for a while so that I can come back to it with fresher eyes.

I’m about to start working on a story for Dark Fairy Tales…

It's a slippery slope. I've done the Hammered Spillane challenge for a few years. Last year I picked up the Pink Orchid challenge as well. This year it's been Pink Orchid, Spillane, plus A.I. New Era. And of course, Born to Run.

I’ve got plans for each of the remaining contests and challenges that will help me finish almost all my remaining categories.
I might have trouble with novellas, transcripts, mind control and humor, though. There are a few categories that are optional, like audio and illustrated, so I don’t need to worry about those.

Same here, unfortunately. Oh well, hopefully they'll be approved and added to the anthology soon. I doubt anyone will read all the stories in one day anyway.

Update - The list of stories for the "Born to Run" challenge was just posted. However, my prose still is pending. I guess this challenge only allowed stories.
