We lived in several tornado areas when I was a kid. Those storms were scary! We get some high winds here but rarely get tornadoes. 🌪

Same. I recall one as a young child where tree branches came through an upper hallway window when it fell on the house. I don't recall the storm itself though.

There weren't any people left on them, as they had been evacuated already.

Two days down in Mexico City…good to be home. Good Lord that city is HUGE! One more day in the Cumberland mine then home manåna. Is it Monday? This is one of those weeks where I lose track of days and time.

I remember going to bed that early (as in late). In my taxi driving days it would be 5am with the sun coming up.

No idea - think I've only sung karaoke once or twice and that was 30+ years ago.
I don't recall seeing you at the café before, so here's the standard welcome we give for all newbies:
There looks to be some new folks in the group...

We run this thread a little differently.

Read the first post...goes over the "rules" so to speak.

I will summarize:

When I was in Spain, I'd walk to the 4 story market (filled with individual booths) and get a kilo of fresh cherries, some great cheese, a loaf of warm, freshly baked sweet bread and a couple bottles of red wine... I LOVED my breakfast over there!

For those joining the story already in progress...
The repairs/fixes are to my home.
It started with a deck repair and then quickly evolved into a bathroom facelift, new kitchen floor, and changing from round door knobs to lever style knobs.
We are so close to being done... none of this should have taken 10 months to complete.
But he ghosts, cancels, and shows late constantly.

"Wearing pants" is now mostly for leaving the house and for when people come over.
