The best kind of nurse IMO... but how to respectfully request being placed on their ward?

I've had patients demand to be placed on certain units and with certain nurses. Because I learned to start IVs on neonates, I was pretty good at it. Because their disease causes fragile veins, many of my diabetes and kidney disease patients would request me to start their IVs.

Weird day today.

It was supposed to be a beach day and it would’ve been a great day for it. 95 and humid.

But I just wasn’t feeling quite right. My mouth STILL hurts and my lip is still numb. I called the oral surgeon today because this is not adding up. He said 2 PM, so there goes the beach day.

But then I took a nap from 12 to one. I just had no energy. Still don’t.

He said this happens very occasionally - he’s not sure why. I also must’ve been the inside of my lip, because it’s all torn up. He gave me a topical to put on it. Talking is very painful.

Then I took a nap from 330-630. I must’ve needed to sleep.

I feel OK other than my mouth. I just don’t have any energy. Def don’t feel sick…

I'm so sorry, W. I'm very glad you got in to the oral surgeon.

It's been oppressively hot here lately; today was over 90°! Tonight, the clouds rolled in to cool us off. When I took my trash bins out, I noticed an orange moon! This is not filtered!

I have retired for 10 years. I began a consulting biz and retired from that last year. This is my last year of running AirBNB. I am focusing my time now on family, friends and other widowers and widows. I feel blessed I have you folks in my life as well.

I started on a renal floor... I was pretty good. I also could start ivs on kids.... goal was to stick once
