TEXAS HOUSE DEMOCRATS FLEEING TO THE LAND OF LINCOLN

If you're going to put quotation marks around comments like that, you'd better be able to point to someone who really said that. We all know you can't do that here.
It's quite clear he was referring to your party.

Now those absentee Democrats face a new headache: their automatic payroll deposits have been cut off. They must now pick up their paychecks in person, risking arrest to do so. A Texas court has ordered Beto O’Rourke to halt all payments to these truant lawmakers, citing that “Defendants have and will continue to engage in unlawful fundraising practices and misuse of political funds in ways that violate Texas law.” What we’re witnessing is the unraveling of one of the oldest political institutions in the country.

I'm aware. My point is, he presented something as a quotation when we al know no one really said it (or at least he hasn't heard anyone say it).
You asked for precedent and I gave you precedent. Now you try to explain it away. :poop:
It's not a precedent. Those were not cases of Democrats forcing through a mid-decade redistricting. As I pointed out, they literally couldn't have done it in those states at that time if they'd wanted to.

That's why you're dead, right? 🥸

Funny thing I don't work in PP clinic.

Do whatever you want. Not really sure how that one is legal but it seems like they are planning on riding this out and there won't be much to be done about it.

As a former resident of MA, there are no republican districts even though 41%of the population voted red in 2024.

If democracy was so important, why leave? And why go to MA, Chicago, LA and NY? Who e er planned thus forgot to think of optics and public opinion. It doesn't look good, especially if the party is being painted in same corner as the types of criminals ICE keeps picking up.

You are not fighting for democracy, but to keep your job. Reminds me to the scene from Blazing Saddles and the bit with governor trying to save the phoney baloney jobs.
Happy new alt.

I love how the democrats are threatening to retaliate by redistricting their states. That's a fucking joke, they've already gerrymandered their states to the point they wouldn't be able to squeeze more than a couple more seats out.

We shall see.

Ah, but they could, and the maps are out there to prove it. FAFO.

If they really did have the ability to eliminate ten blue districts, the map already on the table would have done that. Besides, the more they gerrymander the map, the thinner they spread their majority in at least some of the red districts. So the Republican incumbents won't like that.

Newsom and Hochul are so damn uppity with so-called hype talk about redrawing congressional districts in California and New York State. Pritzker looked like a buffon when Kristen Welker of NBC News called him out to his face about Illinois' pathetic redistricting maps.

Say what you will about Pritzker and Hochul, neither of them called on their state legislatures to do an unnecessary and probably unconstitutional mid-decade redistricting because the president said so.
