The president of the United States is the Commander in Chief of the military and that includes ALL personnel, districts/reservations, and all naval vessels at sea. In that capacity the president has absolute authority. What Trump is doing is inartful but like so many things he does inartfully you realize later that he did it rudely in order to shame others into finding a solution that they were trying to avoid.

I'll skip the rest of your tale. This part, I'll speak to.

You give Trump way too much credit. He isn't this deep a thinker. He is transactional at best and certainly narcissistic, according to his cousin, Mary Trump, PhD, observations of him. She's a psychologist, and she has far greater insight into who he is and how he acts than you or I.

For the life of me, I can't recall one thing he did rudely that shamed others into finding a solution they were trying to avoid. He shamed his opponents while running: called them names, insulted their wives, claimed they were illegals, stupid, liars, crooked, while engaging in the same thing, convicted of crimes he still denies, and the list goes on. Where in any of those was there an outcome in which he helped someone find a solution?

He blamed Zelenskyy for starting the Ukrainian war, ambushed him in the Oval Office, over claims that he had not thanked him enough for helping Ukraine. WAs that rudeness to shame him into finding a solution?

None of this was called for in my book. It wasn't justified at any level, as you stated.

A compasionate government would look to help them. Get them treatment. NOt order them out of the city without a means of leaving. Where to? How far?

At least he proffered the Palestinians a concept of a plan: Arabs to build them a very nice city so nice all of them would want to move there.

His police department was pro active, empowered his law enforcement to stop and frisk taking weapons off the streets. Of course when law enforcement is working in high crime areas it became a racist issue, profiling individuals that fit the profile based on crime statistics which didn't include 90 year old white grandmothers.

I have to admit, I was amazed that this president had a lightbulb moment and finally tackled the dramatic rise in crime rates earlier this year, just six months late.
Fine, I would have just sent the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW to the nursing home for highly demented and highly incompetent third-rate businessmen and would-be rapists, which would only require a resolute nurse, not the National Guard, but fine. He's doing the best he can within his means.
That should solve most of the sever problems the US faces at three moment, provided he takes his full entourage with him.
