No, he definitely is not the only one to blame, but he's the easy one to focus on.Not sure Coquard was to blame, messy intermediate sprint after slow riding and it's always dodgy.
Coquard was also in the nasty crash at 250m to go. He was very battered after that, but not as much as Jenierre of Total Energies who was almost launched into the crowd. He got up after, then sat down again until the medics arrived to stop the bleeding from his mouth. Then he finished the stage.
I love the Grand Departs, especially if there are a few stages close together. The atmosphere in Nord France has been incredible. Any stage in Belgium is good too, or the Basque country.
Jeanerre is also on my team, along with Phillipsen, so coquard is still not one of my favorites.
But the tour is still super fun
