Hello! Welcome to Lit!Me too! Hi!
I think it was Saint Ann (?) that said that?
It’s like a soap opera but apparently luuk used to date saint ann when she was called karen katfish?
I guess you two have never heard of Jazz Jennings.
Jazz Jennings was 17 years old when she underwent her first gender confirmation surgery, which included bottom surgery, in June 2018.
I think people who are legally allowed to make decisions for themselves as adults should be able to do whatever they want to themselves.
Been here 23 years and that is all you've got?Liar.
I've only browsed a few threads out of idle curiosity. I'm not really that invested in trying to prove someone is something they may or may not be. But boy I sure do see a lot of sockpuppet references. Are you talking about the men who don’t wear shirts and the ones in panties shaking their dicks?
Those are the Democrats, right?
She's a Floridian.I stand "corrected"…There is ONE "example", and it’s a reality TV "star" who was SEVENTEEN at the time (the age of consent in many states is SIXTEEN) who’s doctors went against medical guidelines that recommend a patient be eighteen.
What?? You're talking nonsense.Beyond not needing to confuse grade school children?
It does nothing of the kind. If some other kid in your class is transgendered, that does not affect your ability to learn -- nor does it affect his/hers. And I would have thought you would find phys.ed. of transgenders objectionable -- that just leads to them playing girls' sports.By taking the focus off of learning how to read, do basic math, physical education.
It's about that age -- not puberty -- when trans kids start to realize they were born with the wrong parts.Beyond not needing to confuse grade school children?

You're a minor until you aren't.
My assertion, and the only point I care to address is that she was a minor at the time of the surgery. And you sure are trying awfully hard to downplay that fact.
And YOU are an idiot until YOU aren’t…
ONE random case involving a SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD "celebrity" who convinced ONE doctor to SLIGHTLY go against RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES (not laws) does NOT support whatever the fuck YOU are trying to assert.
Side note:
I notice the rest of my post went unaddressed…
Weird…

Is every surgery published as news? No. Only when it's newsworthy. We have no idea if other similar surgeries have been performed because people are very fond of their privacy.
There’s all kinds of things American Society says you cannot do or decide for yourself until you are 16,17,18,19 or 21.
None of those things is as serious as having your genitals chopped off and reconfigured.
Well okay, enlisting to kill people and getting married are possibly just as insane.
It shouldn’t be allowed for children… and in the rare cases of life or death its the parents decision unless theres a compelling reason for a court to appoint a guardian ad litem.
That’s the way parent child stuff has worked and I dont see why drag queens reading you stories at the library should create a dick chopping exception.
You know very well that's not how it goes. What's the rush? Why can't they wait til they're legally allowed to make the decision themselves?
Yeah, because a kid just decides one day they want their “genitals chopped off and reconfigured”; their parent just say “OK”; the parents and their kid just go to the “dick chopping” surgeon who just says “OK” - and snip snip stitch, just like that, it’s done…

Hormone therapy should wait. Give the body time to grow and the mind time to grow and sort itself out. Parents can still be supportive of their child's desires in all other ways. They have the final say on what goes into the child's body because they are personally responsible for the care of that child. They decide whether or not the kid can have a flu shot too. If Mom and Dad decided I was going to the doctor, I didn't have a whole lot of say in it. Until I became a legal adult.
“they” DO “wait” when it comes to the surgery and “they” DID do it “legally”.
This ^ gaslighting is really all about denying minors NON-SURGICAL gender care:
The radical right puts the focus on a non-issue / non-problem (gender reassignment surgery among minors), and then uses that non-issue / non-problem to expand the restrictions on minors getting access to other gender related care.
We. Told. Them. So.

You are one of the people here who brings up “ The Rules” here in a definitive/strident way…. How is this any different than age of consent ?
Lol

It's not ok unless it's ok with the parents first.
*crickets*
Lol
So the PARENTS are not allowed to use hormone therapy on their underdeveloped kid? What other things do you think PARENTS shouldn't be able to do?The Tennessee Law (and others) that the SCOTUS just upheld gives the government veto power over the PARENTS.
It's about that age -- not puberty -- when trans kids start to realize they were born with the wrong parts.
Intelligent states understand gender euphoria

I don't live in Tennessee so my opinion is undoubtedly different. This is a serious issue for PARENTS, who should be very concerned with what goes into their precious child's body. Hormone therapy, in my very personal, not so humble opinion, is a very radical decision for someone whose body is still developing. I have never met the people that want to be able to do this to their kid. I don't think it's a good idea, but if the PARENTS think it's ok, then it's ok.
