This represents a very small share of overall state and local spending, with the state General Fund providing $37.5 billion to Medi-Cal in 2023-24, for example."

Clearly, if a ban on such surgeries results in even a negligible amount of savings then the State of California is indeed admitting that underage gender reassignment surgeries are taking place in the state.

I do agree to an extent. However, the children are innocent bystanders, as they should not be able to make these decisions until they are 25 years old when science says your brain is fully developed.

The report YOU cited listed SEVERAL treatments that would potentially result in a tiny amount of government spending.

The FACTS are: There is NOT ONE documented case of a minor receiving gender reassignment surgery in the U.S. (there have been a few breast reduction surgeries among minors).

Incidentally: I actually knew a girl in sixth grade who had huge breasts, and she had to have breast reduction surgery for back / spinal curve problems related to her breast size - while she was a minor (and that was FIFTY YEAES AGO): Should the government be allowed to ban surgeries like that???

Five pages, and nobody has explained how any of this is a win for parental rights.

It's as if gender-reassignment therapy previously was being done on minors without consulting the parents. That never happens.
