I had no trouble working night shift, 7P-7A. Sometimes I would work 3P-3A; I liked those. But 11P-11A? Nope, nope, nopety nope! Once those day shifters got in, I wanted OUT! I salute you, sir!

I love having my hair washed! One of my favorite movies is Out of Africa. There's a scene where Robert Redford washes Meryl Streep's hair. I swoon! Every time!

Yes! OMG - I love the scene more out of hair washing envy than anything else. It looks like he really gives her a good head scrubbing! (Not an euphemism!! )

I'm related to a few... mostly by marriage (sibling's)... but a couple by blood.

I admire you, as those are some odd shifts!
I've often preferred night shift, but this is different... midnight til noon for the first half of my hitch, noon til midnight for the second half, then a normal life while I'm home... I honestly have no biorhythms left.

My last employer did that with me... dang near broke me. Swing shifts, back2back, double, turnarounds, split shifts... I ditched for that (and other reasons) and have been 1st shift ever since. Much better. I admire people who can consistently work the other 2 shifts or, like you, @Boat1, can work any shift in any order at any time.
Either I'm not built that way or I seriously burned out that cylinder a long time ago.

Telehealth meeting with my doctor. I stand corrected, I do not have tendinitis rather damaged tendons. They do account for the pain. I call Monday to set up PT. Until then I am on Naproxen for the pain.

Fried SPAM wow wow wow lol

My mom and aunties grew up with fried SPAM (WWII babies). I remember a summer visit w/ my aunties. I think it was movie night and SPAM was in a scene. They chattered on about it after the movie. So I stopped on my way over the next day and bought a small can and some Ritz crackers.
That poor can didn't stand a chance. They made short work of it - but also made sure to let me know that 1 small can was enough.
That was a very fun memory.

I got on an Isak Dinesen (Baroness Karen von Blixen) kick a couple of years ago. Had just introduced SWMBO to the movie (how has an English LIt major not seen this?!) and thought…I need to read the book! So I did a deep dive.

Not just with Out of Africa but then because I’m a geek, nabbed a biography on Denys Finch-Hatton, (the Redford character in the movie) Too Close To The Sun (Sara Wheeler), and that led me to Beryl Markham’s (she is the character in the book who was the Tomboy breaking horses…forget her name in the movie but they couldn’t use Beryl’s real name due to legal issues) book West With the Night.

All three books were great reads and paint an amazing picture of post WW1 Africa.

Well, birthday party was a success. Fresh flounder and all the fixuns…today, they’re having a Bonsai viewing of professionally done plants at our local arboretum. We had a big storm roll through last night so if it isn’t rained out, headed that way.

All politics aside, again, the Army 250 parade and celebration in DC tonight was a great performance that showed soldiers outfitted in uniforms from all conflicts/wars was neat. Revolution to GWOT. And the group that got the privilege to have the CinC perform their re-up ceremony was kind of cool too.
