The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Well the weekend wedding was awesome! The bride is the baby cousin of my wife’s family. The last of the girls to get married. She was a flower girl in our wedding as a kid some 30+ yrs ago! She was beautiful, the groom handsome (ex-military so he and I had that secret handshake going), got to meet lots of his side, and see and catch up with the wife’s side. A couple I hadn’t seen since our wedding.

The venue was one of those barn style places, but the actual ceremony was in a bamboo garden! They had probably planted an acre or two with towering bamboo, made little trails and nooks with tea lights everywhere. Pretty magical. Had a bamboo bridge over a creek even. After the ceremony in the bamboo, then we moseyed over to the barn and drinks, dinner, and dancing ensued.

SWhoMBO’s family can let their hair down when they want and when the dance floor opened, we never stopped! Haven’t danced so much in I can’t remember when…in fact it’s been quite a while since I’ve even been to a wedding. Big family events…can’t beat ‘em!

Breezed over the last few days trying to catch up…hope everyone had a great weekend…Yellowstone Park MZ…

I felt OK today but definitely ran out of steam during my errand run! And I had things to do at home! Laundry to wash my gym clothes do I don't have to show up there nakey. And I baked a cake for my trainer. It's a pancake cake! This is the recipe I used. I only have a 15 inch cast iron skillet so I doubled the recipe and made a few tweaks:

This is how it turned out:

Oh my goodness .. Lucky trainer that is amazing @Lilianna23

Overslept a little this morning. That started the mood for the day.

Smoke from the Canadian fires swept through here, with air quality 3x worse than the "do not go outside" level. It's starting to clear some visually, but still 2x the don't go out levels.

Hope this clears soon. Everyone's eyes and sinuses are burning, even with HEPA filters running.

Hope you had a good day today!

Well now I feel like a dick complaining about my day.

You definitely have it rough. Good luck and hope you dont have to go outside much. Stay safe.

Hello, my Lady K has COPD and is on oxygen 24/7. Going outside is not an option and tomorrow will be worse. Our air conditioning is running constantly. I hope the smoke from Canada ends soon so at least if she needs to go the doctor, I can get her there safely.

trying to harness the power of positive thinking...
had no less than 4 people today tell me what a struggle today has been 🙁
Good news - we are almost at the halfway point this week... assuming you start counting on Sunday
What's everyone else up to today?
I did! Fitbit sez nearly 8 hours! 🤯
Sweet!! Not even sure the last time I got a solid, uninterrupted 8 hours of sleep. Sounds so luxurious!!!
Did you get it fixed? Have you considered adding a solar panel for your well?
Oooh - I like that idea!! You in a Sun Zone anyways... why not make it work for you??
Morning all. I am definitely feeling better. I think I turned the corner over the weekend once I started taking the antibiotic.

I slept like a baby and fell asleep at nine, but woke up at 4:15.
:nana: Woo!!! So glad to hear you are feeling better and getting good sleep again!! Hope the trend continues.
Good morning OM. A morning taxi run is on today’s agenda. After that I am going for a walk and then relaxing in my recliner.
Hope you banked enough sleep for today's taxi run.
A walk and some Recliner Time sounds wonderful... provided you're not in the smoke zone.

Sounds like an amazing weekend!!! I miss those big family weddings. We're likely a few more years out before the next generation starts hitching up.
Someone explain to me how it is only Tuesday? It feels like this week has been forever already and should be Thursday. Maybe even Friday.

So far, 2 HEPA Air Purifiers running on high. Some breakthrough smoke now and then but still breathable with all windows closed.
This may be the year to break out a 3rd HEPA

Right? Personally, I'm a fan of breathing 🤷‍♀️

I don't know what your air quality numbers are, but close by here they were just under 1000.

For reference 0-50 is considered good, and 300 considered hazardous.
I've never seen numbers that high before!
I think the rain we got today helped keep our numbers low.
Tomorrow is looking to be a Challenge Day

Taxi Service in the morning with a stop at the mechanic's in between drop off/pick up to put new tires on the car. I've had oil changes before where I've had to sit outside just to breathe with all the petrochemicals in use at the auto shop.
Looks like I need to dig out one of my cloth masks with a pocket so I can load it up with disposable filters.

My mom really struggled when we were in minnesota

Not my best day. I was closing the gate on my deck and suddenly was swarmed by hornets. Definitely lucky that I made it out with only 4-6 stings, but I’m laying low today…
My worst nightmare... not enough EpiPens 💉
Hope you have a way (or better - have people) to source and resolve that issue.
Me? I'd probably hire movers and sell. :ROFLMAO:
Our air quality report is about 150 for my area...
🫂 Such a challenging time, Rj. Hope you and your Mrs find ways to stay safe in Smoke Season
My mom really struggled when we were in minnesota
If my mom were still with us, she would have, too. 🫂
Hope the air is and remains better for you both now you're home again.
I am home..... just in time to work tomorrow

I am glad that I cleaned my house a bit before I left..... I am exhausted.... will share some about my trip tomorrow
Take care and sleep well. I'm looking forward to Storytime when you've recovered 😁
