The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Thankfully, we don't have many fires right now. We will likely have more this summer. It's getting hotter and dryer here now. 😒
I had a wildfire briefing at work earlier this week (our meteorologist at work prepares these forcing sessions like wildfire session, hurricane season, severe convective storm session…)

This summers wildfire forecast is not great. 😕

I was an on again off again massage guy. When I started getting monthly “maintenance” massages, it really turned my world around! The usual aches and pains went away…I’ll get a flair up every now and then but I tell my therapist and she gets the kinks out. It really has become a must for me. I figure my monthly payment is cheaper than a chiropractor, sports therapist, regular doc, AND the massage therapist!

It doesn’t hurt she’s young and pretty! 🤩

I’m in a Depeche mood tonight…

Our massage therapist is this great hippy lady. Super quirky but funny and a good massagist (made up word)

Unfortunately she is retiring… 🫤

Hope you get to feeling better and breathing more freely.

FYI: when I did the whole yard business but like half the country does at one point, I had to use something for my allergies. I chose a product called Zyrtec.

Amazing....at first.

About month 2 of my business, I started having joint pain and debilitating neck pain. Went to the doc and guess what? Pain pills. Ok, let's go back to work.

A few weeks after that I was worried about how much of them I was taking. Went back to doc. Guess what? You guessed it. More pain pills.

This did not work for me. I didn't even pick the new ones up from the pharmacy. I hate taking meds, so I don't take a lot of them.

That made my research easy. I started looking at all the side effects of everything I was taking.
I found it!

In the unlikely side effects section of Zyrtec, I found my exact symptoms. Muscle pain, joint pain, neurological complications. I had them all.

Switched to Claritin and the pain went away. I took my pain pills to the doc and left them there.

Problem solved.

I suspect Doctors forget that patients are not always within the normal distribution range if responses to medications. In your case, you were in that 5 percent group who had the rare but painful symptoms. I am sorry you had that experience. My mother could not take Benadryl as she had the rare side effect of hyperactivity.

We are all unique and do not always react to meds the same as others. I’m glad you found out and corrected it.

I love this, NC! What an astute assessment of management. It's all about people skills. Some have them; some don't. The unfortunate thing is that when companies promote from within, they tend to promote good workers without giving them education on management of others. It's a soft skill that not many possess innately.
I so agree. My long time friend was promoted because he was a high performer. After a month of being a supervisor he went to management and said I want my old job. He knew he did not have the people skills for supervision. He was smart to do so and very happy thereafter.
