What brought you to lit?

I come here mostly for the forums. I've been lurking for several years and only recently opened up by making a few posts myself.
I'm interested in just about everything sexual and its "permutations" so I enjoy hearing about things people will (and won't) do. It's opened my eyes to many things I'd never heard about, some I'd like to try, some I wouldn't like to try, and some that there's no way in HELL I'd try them - but that's just me.
In addition, I'm in a pretty much sexless relationship so I get to live vicariously through all of your folks who have a thrilling sex life. I hope you don't mind. :)

Several years ago, I started to write erotic stories to read to my wife. She detests visual porn, but enjoys a good dirty story… Especially ones that are about her. I read one to our sex therapist, who we were seeing to help find our way back to sex after my wife entered menopause, and she loved it and suggested I published them here. Then…the forums caught my eye.

I read this and Anne Rices Beauty books and was hooked on written erotica so started searching for more. Once I discovered the forums I learned that reading or seeing other peoples turn ons were sometimes more erotic than reading stories. I sometimes leave but always come back.

My path is perhaps not the normal route. Not a fan of social media in general, I did enjoy posting pictures on flickr of handsome people at music festivals and in public. Flickr had an 'erotic stories' group, and I got a kick posting various snippets of real life and fiction from my brain. Someone in the group mentioned 'Literotica' ... clueless of me to not recognise that the Internet would harbor such an erotic story site.

Ha! Been here over ten years now, almost a hundred stories of every description. The old adage from a local newscaster Scoop Nisker was 'if you don't like the news, go out and make some of your own.' I reinterpreted that to include 'write the stories you like.'

So there you have it, hotwives, confused bisexuals, over-educated professionals with over-active libidos, I've managed to create all manner of arousal scenes across the sexual spectrum and had a lot of fun both writing and getting better at it. Didn't discover the forums for an embarrassingly long time, but all of these threads are an entertaining and satisfying foray into the erotic world.

Got bored with porn, bored with fetlife (fortunately not bored with married life; we don't have very much sex it's true but we are life besties so it's OK).

Just thought reading erotica would be fun (and I do sometimes) but then found the boards and it's a different kind of fun. I like the engagement here (even the dread fucking PB) and reading about others' sex journeys.
That's interesting. I've also gotten "bored" with FetLife and have decided to explore here. What's "PB"?

Interesting - I also got bored with FetLife and now I'm checking out here. What's "PB"?

hm, I guess I came here to explore desires & curiosities in a judgment free zone. everyone's been nice so far. I think in person people have their "masks" on and are afraid to be vulnerable, especially in my age group.
Honestly, "everyone" looks at your avatar and thinks, "I could have sex with her, and love every minute of it". I think that's why people are so nice.

I was on another website called Philanderer's Forum when Lit was mentioned.

Was a member of both until PF closed.

Many many moons ago.

Agree, though I'd like to think Lit is not entirely a "Judgment Free Zone." No one should be shaming anyone's kink or sexual interest provided all participants in their kink are of consenting age and there is no coercion or deceit. But we should all call out those who are here promoting non-consent. Just MHO

I was in a sexless marriage and decided I deserved more. We separated and I discovered Lit. I’ve enjoyed “meeting” and chatting with people and expressing myself! I’m now divorced from the ex and I’ve remarried. Our sex life is amazing and he encourages me to post my pics on Lit, which is a huge turn on for me as an exhibitionist!
