Yeah, we are pigs, aren't we?!Which means nothing because the statistics are very clear that the US is the leading consumer in the world.
Maybe their intent but it's failing. The nations that were "Origin" washing and being used for trans-shipments are closing their doors to those practices thereby denying China a way to bypass the tariffs. All of those pesky WTO rules that were being ignored are now being monitored and consequences applied.Lest there was any doubt about China’s stance in trade war, this official video makes clear the state of mind in Beijing. The video appears aimed at building solidarity with others around the world to push back against US efforts to rewire global trade.
Very inspiring!
Is that right Sparky? China has dropped tariffs on approx. 25% of US goods while the US hasn't budged. AND ole Xi said that no talks unless we dropped our tariffs. Now, exactly who fucking blinked SFB?China’s retaliatory tariffs brought Trump to the bargaining table.

Correct that the USA is the largest consumer market, but is that a strength or a weakness? At almost 70% of GDP that is far too high. China is much less at 39%, although their vehicle market is bigger than USA and EU put together. The trashing of the US$ value by 10% in the last 100 days is the only cave in so far. That is already impacting US consumers of modest income.
The actual tariffs (US federal sales taxes) will start to bite through the inflation of goods costs roundabout June/July, this will really hurt the middle and working classes. Both sides need to get some sanity back into trade, but I suspect that Chinese resilience to hard times is the greater; they will not be rushing to cut a deal, time favours them.
Sure they have. Go back on your medsBut you'd never know if you're slaved to the MSM, you know, the same media that told you "ole Joe is sharp as a tack."\
Anyway, ChIna has dropped all tariff's on 100 (+/-) US imports without any pubic announcement. Further, they have been in trade negotiations for over a week now with US officials. It's all about saving face with them.
But so many members of this board believed the CCP (and the domestic media parrots that love the CCP) that they filled this board with their bullshit. And is so often the case you are the ones standing in front of the fan throwing the shit that blows back in your face. Stupid monkeys.

this move mirrors the shift by the Trump administration – exempting smartphones and other electronics from its own “reciprocal” tariffs, including the 145% levies on China (those US exemptions apply to about $102 billion, or roughly 22% of US imports from China last year)
Yep China has them too and more...Russia has those. China, dunno.
None of that has any bearing on the fact that China has folded.Nope. Trump exempted smartphones and electronics from tariffs first, as stated in this quote from a comment by your pal RightGuide.:

What you said was that the US is the biggest consumer MARKET. The EU is a bigger market even if Americans consume more. a market is a measure possible sales so the bigger the population the bigger the market.Which means nothing because the statistics are very clear that the US is the leading consumer in the world.
They are as blind to that fact as they were to Biden's mental decline.None of that has any bearing on the fact that China has folded.

Make up your mind, are you talking about markets or countries? You said that the US is the biggest consumer MARKET. The EU is a single market in that goods and services know no borders within the bloc. I know you have a problem with expressing yourself but please try to say what you mean. The EU isn't A "country."
Please stop with your incessant BS.
The EU is a group of countries. The US is the largest single consumer market in the World. A full 36% of what is produced for export is consumed in the United States. What you said was that the US is the biggest consumer MARKET. The EU is a bigger market even if Americans consume more. a market is a measure possible sales so the bigger the population the bigger the market.
All part of the same tariff union, which makes them a single market, just like the 50 American states form a single market. The EU is a group of countries.
The EU is a single Market, it's written into its founding documents. Goods and services know no borders within the bloc. When it comes to trading with countries outside of the bloc, it is all done centrally by the commission. In terms of trade, it is one country. You can't make deals with one country any more than an outsider could cut a trade deal with CaliforniaThe EU is a group of countries. The US is the largest single consumer market in the World. Did you read that on "Tic Tac?" (sp. Trump)They are as blind to that fact as they were to Biden's mental decline.
So you're saying that the US imports 36% of the world's exports. And that imbalance will be resolved by taxing US consumers. The EU is a group of countries. The US is the largest single consumer market in the World. A full 36% of what is produced for export is consumed in the United States.
I can agree with the above but Gov. Newsom of California doesn't:The EU is a single Market, it's written into its founding documents. Goods and services know no borders within the bloc.
