Why have Republicans stopped bragging about the stock market?

And then there is this:

https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/for-our-country-chinas-patriots-are-buying-dip-2025-04-22/

😳

Now ask yourself a question:

“Who is currently propping up U.S. stock markets???”

🤔

Answer:

Big Players: ETFs, etc buying on the dips.

😑

There is some high stakes brinksmanship taking place right now. Can those propping up the U.S. markets outlast the Chinese, etc??? (Should either side be artificially propping up the markets???)

🤔

Regardless: This is getting uglier and uglier.

😳

We. Told. Them. So.

the saying is that the US plays poker, Russia plays chess and China plays Go.

poker is a short transactional game with each hand only taking a couple of minutes and it's mostly about bluffing, convincing the other players you have a better hand than you actually have.

chess and Go are long term strategy games.

China can pull the plug on the US any time they wish but they choose not to until it is strategically opportune

Democrats are better for the stock market. It performs better when there is a democratic administration than a republican one and so does the overall economy.
@SluttyTheresa Show me one chart to prove this point. I think you are wrong here, as in reality in the long run it really doesn’t matter.

Fun fact - the rate of return for the SP500 under republican president is 0.2 percent higher.

Markets have a lower rate of return, when it’s a divided government ( House and Senate have different parties controlling it)

@SluttyTheresa Hence when it comes to money I never invest or care for who is President!

In the long run US has only grown!

Staying invested gets rid of all these distractions

People will display data based on things they want to focus on!

Tune out the noise!

Um, we are currently in uncharted territory with the OVERALL ECONOMY under this psychotic and incompetent administration.

The damage that has ALREADY been done to the OVERALL ECONOMY will be nearly impossible to mitigate OR repair.

The same holds true for the damage done to our military alliances, etc.

🤬

We. Told. Them. So.

9 out of the last 10 recessions have occurred under a Republican president. Every single Republican administration since President Chester Arthur has had a recession. That says it all.

@SluttyTheresa

Good data point on recessions. Thanks for educating me.

Conveniently changed stock market returns to economy.

Always remember, Recessions or economic cycles don’t occur based on who is in office. They have lag time based on policies which have been implemented. I would be curious to break your data more into detail and find out the timing of that recession , when it started and when it ended.

Definition of recessions says two negative quarters of GDP growth, 6 months is a long time it can overlap two presidents easily.

Wish you luck @SluttyTheresa . I am guessing you are staying in cash right now, stay in cash! I will be smiling and waiting for you at end of the current presidents term having compounded my money!

This isn’t an economic cycle. This is a deliberate attempt to wreck the economy by the leader of the free world.

All you have to do is Goggle which party is best for the economy. Forbes magazine for one
@SluttyTheresa dont worry I got my answer with Chat GPT! Your question for google is different than recession question. As I said don’t care who sits in office.

  • Total Recessions: 17
  • Policy-Induced: 9
    • Under Republican Presidents: 6
    • Under Democratic Presidents: 3

  • Non-Policy-Induced: 8
    • Under Republican Presidents: 6
    • Under Democratic Presidents: 2
