I'm sure sometimes your version would be preferred as well.I feel attacked.![]()
These things I wear actually DO have selective hearing. If there is no noise, they will search for any noise and focus on it. If there's lots of ambient noise, they turn off everything but which direction I'm facing and hone in on recognized speech ...so if you're at a table at a loud restaurant I can hear just youYes it can be funny but it is very aggravating. Hearing aids can only do so much
Very true. They went w/o any for about 20 years because the technology needed to advance in order to work for them. I cried the day they announced having one again and being able to play their TV at a volume of 23 instead of 53.Yes it can be funny but it is very aggravating. Hearing aids can only do so much
I love that feature!!These things I wear actually DO have selective hearing. If there is no noise, they will search for any noise and focus on it. Do it!!Very true. They went w/o any for about 20 years because the technology needed to advance in order to work for them. I cried the day they announced having one again and being able to play their TV at a volume of 23 instead of 53.
I love that feature!!
There's a restaurant here that's a big, open box and noisy AF. I can only hear the person sitting immediately next to me... maybe across from me. This is problematic as I have a large family, so dinners are often a group of 15-25. It's very limiting. My sibling w/ the new hearing aids manages brilliantly and I leave thinking I need a hearing test.
Enjoy... speaking of, I finished the Russian Sniper book the other day. Highly recommend to those interested in snipers, military, WW2, etc. Was an interesting perspective IMO.Off to read . . . .
Lady Death - The Memoirs of Stalin's Sniper by Lyudmila Pavlichenko
The hearing test? I'll ask at my next appointment. Just got a reminder to schedule a visit w/ Primary Care docDo it!!
Good thing I’ve been stockpiling ammo for ages. Esp the Russian stuff, but Serbian, Croatian, Romanian, Bosnian, old school corrosive Russian and Yugoslavian. Prolly other types.I ordered it.
Eastern European ammo will possibly dry up in the next few months. We'll be buyin' MADE IN U.S.A. stuff.
Again.
Gorgeous!!!!Sunrise and sunset today in North Devon
Thanks for that reminder!
So true. And the dreaded "Wait, is that muzak track playing my song?"
Glad it's going well, all things considered.Evening (for me), everyone. Been busy. Back across the state and finally getting into the field on real jobs. Ran into a nasty one today. Made for great training so it was good on my end. Felt a bit bad for the locator who was assigned the ticket as we ate about an hour of their time. They rolled with it though so that was good. Hands-on is so much better than classroom, imo.
Haven't had time to keep up with everything here. Sending best thoughts to everyone.
The rocket powered walkers would be awesome. Especially if you could convert your walker into a chair.I remember that knife in the socket stunt. Ya didn't go so well. I am looking forward to rocket powered walkers though. Wonderful technology the dash to the bathroomc will be solved.
I wish I could find the pic of the dining room at my mom’s assisted living.
At the show the other night, it was funny to see all these giant middle aged skinheads and punks wearing ear protection!I am completely lost without my hearing aids.
I still lament all the wasted youth in front of concert stacks at full volume.....years behind the drums without ear protection....sigh.
So true - and the wait for someone to bring yours back to the tableI wish I could find the pic of the dining room at my mom’s assisted living.
Outside was like a parking lot.
For walkers.
