The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I wonder if age isn't a factor as well. My kids run a little hotter and I'm sure it's due to metabolism. I'm guessing a higher metabolism is indicative of the body working hard and therefore creating heat as a byproduct.

Ever heard of the meat sweats? While that is specific to eating a high amount of protein in a short time period, it is still the increased metabolic rate that is responsible for a higher body temperature.

I summarize that a higher metabolism creates a higher temperature whether your doing anything or not. Exercising, eating or even thinking can increase metabolism and therefore body temperature.

And let's not forget those other internal processes that increase body temperature due to metabolism. Illness, pregnancy, hormone changes, and muscle fatigue. These are all examples of the body working overtime to metabolize something extra or something that doesn't belong.

Sorry for the oration. I fell asleep after work today. Just needed a nap before fixing dinner ... Didn't make it. I woke up after everyone went to bed. The night before was filled with watching tornadoes and texting my brother when to go to his shelter when his power went out. We had several close calls that night in our area.

So, good morning!?!

I'm glad you're all OK, M! 🫂🫂

I have decided that the term "working supervisor" is truly ridiculous. One can do one or the other, but one cannot do both. Nothing effective happens. This is a lateral "promotion" for "supervisors" and when they get rebuffed for supervising by their co-workers, they revert to working and there is no supervision.

I will have to have serious chats again with work weasels to start the week.

You're right. If you have a full load, you can't effectively supervise. If you're supervising, you can't manage a full load.

When I was working staff, I always hated it when the unit was short staffed and I was the charge nurse. You either overloaded your staff or you took patients. I wouldn't overload staff. Neither job was done effectively. It happened a lot at night because there was no place from which to pull staff.

Good morning diners and hope your coffee is strong but smooth like your partner 😉. Of course that depends on your personal preference.

Agenda is to celebrate my granddaughter’s birthday, take my grandson to his autism center and make a hearty veggie bean barley soup.

Winter decided to snow on spring this week. Not much fun with that. And freeze tonight means spring flowers will be affected.
