I'm so glad your friend is well now. Having fierce, tenacious friends helps so much!A friend of mine got sepsis from an iv ( twice!) and instead of her blood being red, it came out as green sludge! I almost threw up.
Luckily she has tenacious, ferocious friends when the occasion calls for it.
But yes, until the sepsis was turned around she was continuously screaming with realizing it and her face, which is normally quite lovely, looked like some of the death masks from Herculean and Pompeii. I used to run in an ambulance and sepsis is worse than any accident or illness I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
She is alive and doing fine now.


My SIL developed sepsis from the flu many years ago. I was at the hospital (not mine) every day. ICU nurses are bitches; I'm not afraid to let her out when needed. My SIL is well now, also.
