The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

They still are to lots of people. Telly was a jumper. He belonged to a preppy girl. He got hurt - he's not the most aware critter ever - and Daddy pumped a bunch of money into his vets and into rehab. Daddy started to draw the line on the dollars hemorrhage and the spoiled little twat was heard to ask hypotheticals like, "why do they live so long?" as in, Life would be better if he'd just lie down and die. So he went to the modern equivalent of the knacker, met Calypso, and got adopted by the landlady.

I still call him Preppy. He doesn't care if I have apples.
Bitch! 🤬🤬

The twat, not Landlady!

Didn't catch up on the thread, too tired. This month is my birthday and the local movie theater offers a free bucket of popcorn if you come in during your birthday month. So I went to see "Mickey 17" tonight. By myself, sadly. There were three other people in the theater so it was quiet. Interesting movie, still absorbing some of the ideas.

Hope everyone sleeps well, coffees well, and has a great next 24 hours.

OK Nurse. Here is what they’re looking at…
Left Main Artery Score: 0 Left Anterior Descending Artery Score: 298 Left Circumflex Artery Score: 163 Right Coronary Artery Score: 59 Posterior Descending Artery Score: 0

Am I gonna make it? 😳. So diet and exercise are the most important…we all kind of know that...was just hoping for a quick fix. What about that Apple Cider/Vinegar and water mixture at night? Anything natural…I”m kind of hippy-dippy that way. Thanks for all the info.
Wife is starting to get cranky. She’s not looking forward to this.

It rained like a mini hurricane here last night! Winds and driving hard rain. Looked at my app and there was a small low pressure system sitting off the coast spinning! 😲. Thunderstorms and lighting. Odd type of weather pattern for this time of year. We did need the rain though…

Some New Mexico Hot Spring MZ…

I hope your cardiologist went over these numbers with you. Here's my 2 cents:

LM = 0. This is EXCELLENT! The left main is called the "widow maker" as it supplies 85% of the heart.

LAD = 298. This is considered moderately calcified and can be concerning. The LAD comes off the LM, runs down the front of the heart, and supplies about 50% of the heart.

Cx = 163. This is considered moderately calcified and can be concerning. The Cx comes off the LM, wraps around the left side, and supplies 25-40% of the heart. It can also supply the sinus node, also called the pacemaker of the heart, in about 30% of the population.

RCA = 59. this is considered mildly calcified. The RCA supplies most of the right side of the heart and the sinus node in up to 70% of the population.

PDA = 0. This is EXCELLENT! The PDA supplies most of the back side of the heart, along with the Cx.

I would say you have a moderate risk of a cardiac event within the next 3-5 years if there are no changes made in your lifestyle. The LAD and Cx combined can supply up to 85% of the heart's blood.

ACV has not been shown in clinical trials to reduce or eliminate calcification. Your best holistic bet is to eat clean, try to stay away from trans fats and highly processed foods. Drink 8-10 glasses of water in addition to other beverages, like coffee. Reduce your stress levels.

Exercise, outdoors, as much as possible. The sun helps our bodies make vitamin D, which can be heart helpful. DO NOT take vitamin D supplements without consulting with your providers. It is a fat soluable vitamin; you could be at risk of overdose if not managed.

Continue to f/u with your cardiologist. S/he may recommend a heart cath. Stents placed in the LAD and Cx can keep those vessels open. A heart cath has a much quicker recovery time, about one day, compared to open heart surgery (weeks).

This is the long-ish answer! I can go into more detail if you need it! 😅😅

I am also a charter member of the procrastinators club! I sit here, on a Wednesday evening, having yet to pack for my trip. I leave on Friday. 🙄

Also, please get a room if you're going to be rubbing off on your wife/goddess! 🤭🤭

Rare lull for a quick catch up

Nice to see OM stopping by with her memes from time to time. Lovely to see you when time allows, @Oldermom935

*refers to air fryer
Me neither. Bought one - off gassed it, then repacked and regifted at Christmas with a few silicone accessories. Was well received.

😥 Entirely too many for me to do the same for all I am missing during vacation. Sorry folks. In a perfect world I absolutely would, but current reality has limited resources.

I try to avoid oats as they tend to make my tummy ache.
No gluten sensitivity or celiac issues - just an unhappy tummy when I eat oats in about any form. 🤷‍♀️

😍 love my toaster oven!!!

*adds Stepladder For Downstairs to birthday gift list for Lili*

I'd like this on a badge for our leather jackets please

Oh, no! Poor puppy and poor you. Glad you got it sorted. 😢 He's so lucky to have you as his person. 🫂

Ugh - hate those! I like at least 15 minutes to get online and take a quick look at what came in since the previous day.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go

My advice - eye on the prize... post-surgical recovery

Do as many of the pre-surgical exercises as possible... you will need those muscles during recovery.
You get out of PT what you put in.

Also, when in recovery and needing to get out of bed those first few days.. slip your good leg under your surgical one to help lift and rotate out of bed.

Last bit of advice - ice. Lots and lots of ice.
It helps with pain between doses of pain meds. For me, it works better than the pain meds.

I've had both mine replaced. Each was its own experience. Feel free to DM with any questions. Not an expert by any means but happy to share what I experienced.

Good luck to you both!!

Same - but this new phone is a brick! I said that when I got my last phone... but this time I mean it??
Even my travel pants with two large pockets on either side aren't big enough for this monster.

You know your stuff and you've got this!!

po-tay-to
po-tah-to

Or focus on their shoulder instead of their face. From a distance, it still looks like good eye contact.

Off for a short nap before my next vacation adventure.
Have fun everyone... Happy Tuesday
Glad you're having a good vacation, Likes!

Great post-op suggestions! 💞

Now for my rant of the day.

There is one of my employees I loath. Not dislike, not hate…but loath. This is the second time I’ve been her supervisor and she causes me more stress than any other single or group of employees I’ve ever had. She’s been in a mood recently, over who knows what now, and we are all walking in egg shells. I asked my boss to recognize her for some of the work she’s done recently and she acted like we were criticizing her and out to get her. She makes it quite clear, over and over again, about her dietary allergies and the team does the best to accommodate her but she doesn’t even have lunch with the team. I’ve invited her, but she refuses. She gets pissed off when nobody reacts to her posts in our group chat, and then gets pissed if when she feels the response wasn’t appropriate. If she is calling out sick, which is frequently, she’ll text me at 5:50 am. I’ve told her to wait until later, but she doesn’t get it. I understand she has background medical issues, I’ve had to work with her before and accommodate them, but you don’t need to shove them in the team’s face to stanmd out. She has the union on speed dial, and isn’t afraid to remind us of her close personal friendship with the local shop steward. I just with she would retire, and by the way so does her husband (who is a great guy).

Ok, rant over. Sorry about that. No need to reply I just needed to get this off my chest.
Ugh! She's your 80/20. Or maybe 95/5!

My advice? Stop walking on eggshells around her. Treat her exactly as you treat everyone else. Even her "close personal friend," the shop steward can't fault you for that. Just ignore the passive-aggressive nonverbal pissed-off-ness and counsel her on any verbal or physical manifestations of pissed-off-ness. ALWAYS have a witness, preferably the aforementioned "close personal friend," the shop steward, if/when you need to counsel her. Keep meticulous notes.

It's a PITA, I know. And, I'm probably not telling you anything you don't know. This kind of narcissistic bullying needs to stop. I'm so sorry!🫂🫂
