Lack of chat

Yes.

Speaking from experience, you're a small fish in a large pond.

You have zero posts till now, so you're an unknown. You need to engage and have a personality. Most people won't like chats from strangers, I figure.

well I mean are you looking to chat in the forum? Because this is the chat HELP forum...for issues with chat in some way...its not really a social place per say?

As for if you wanted to try the chat...although I think it could work for forums too...what hodes101 said...either join in a current conversation or...try and start up your own...being visible is a good thing.

I'm struggling to strike up chat with anyone.
Is this normal for a newbie on this chat forum .
My recommendation to any one new is not just dash to PM/DM land.
I would suggest that you attempt to engage in room conversations and discussion that are happening in the room, particularly rooms like the lobby.
it might take you a bit to get any traction - but if you engage in room conversations, display your personality and such - you are more likely to end up getting chat chances than not.

likewise, i would fill out your profile, include some things that might generate a conversation - for example - mine has starwars references and music and several other things in it - so i often get asked about something on my profile - and because they are things i like - i am more inclined to respond.

Also dont expect people, especially us females, to be 100% interest in discussing sex half a second in to talking to us - because frankly.. we get a near infinite number of messages about such things and as such - if you arent unique in some way - you just get lost in the back ground noise as it were - just a drop of water in a very large pond.

So again, my advice is be unique, join the collective conversations, fill out your profile, develop a personality and pay attention to the people you are talking to.
