I dont think he is fiery. He is a terrific father, very kind, wanted us to connect with our heritage but also be Americanized as much as possible (exposed us to lots of American movies and tv, music, sports, news, slang, that sort).
I was picked on a bit as a kid when I first came here because my English wasnt perfect or rather, it was too perfect in some cases and I didnt use slang much.
I still know Italian and Japanese, and speak it when i visit family in those countries or sometimes at home my father will say something in Italian and I/we respond back, but its usually more like "Can someone get the butter from the fridge?" types of stuff.
My mother is a bit more traiditional in that she is very sweet, soft-spoken, polite...but once you get to know her she jokes around more, can be sarcastic or whatever. She is super fucking smart actually.
I learned to cook from both of them.
Im the only girl (I have two older brothers) so being the girl and youngest, some things were likely very different for me than my brothers. I also got the best grades and didnt really get in trouble or whatever, so no fiery explosions at me! I think the worst things I ever did was once stealing a candy bar from a grocery store...and my mom caught me before we even left the store. I was like 7. Otherwise, haha, it was passing notes in class/talking in class...but I pretty much got perfect grades so...no issues for me...Im the PERFECT ANGEL cant you tell?!
