I am not caught up on this thread.

So we did the funnest, but dumbest thing as well. Open my old buddies that I deployed with from the National Guard and I are really good friends. He and his wife and Mrs. wonder and I, went to Punxsutawney to see the groundhog. We left yesterday and hit Punxsutawney and all the groundhog festivities.

Then we got up at 3 AM… the closest hotel we could find was about an hour away from Punxsutawney. We got there only to find out that all of the parking lots were full. We finally found a place and sat outside for about an hour in the cold to get on the bus to take us to where the groundhog is. We got there and over, saw all the festivities. We even waited in line to get a picture with punxatawny Phil. It was freezing cold. About 21°.

Punxatawny is all the way in Western PA, and we got home late this afternoon. It was a lot of fun. Ridiculously stupid, but a lot of fun.

I don’t think I have to do it again ever, but it was actually a lot of fun.

A mug of black, engine room coffee with a toasted whole wheat English muffin, dap of butter and honey please. I'll be sitting in the same dark corner watching and listening. You have a good crowd here, and it was a pleasure meeting Mittering, Wat_Tyler, Misk_2022, Lilanna23, Wonderer67 and others.

I believe some folks might think I'm rather bashful since I haven't said much. Please, understand, I'm in my mid-seventies and have learned over the years to keep my ears open and my mouth shut. Generally, if I sit there quietly someone will say pretty much what I'm thinking, where all I have to do is smile and nod my head in agreement.

Learning to Be Present is one of the toughest things I have had to do. My household growing up was either there <<<< or there >>>>>. It was rarely Here.


It's easy to tell where you are. Make it simple words. If you are resentful, you're living in the past, and if you're afraid, you're living in the future.


Being Present doesn't guarantee Happiness, but it sure heads off a lot of misery and discomfort.

Good morning diners of the cafe. Snow is in the forecast. I am going through some storage boxes and finding some very funny pics. I also found some that my mother left that I have no idea who the people are.

We got SNOW today! We're always very excited when the snow deigns to visit us in the lowlands. And, despite our proximity to the mountains, there are so many who don't know how to drive in it. I'm a cautious and somewhat timid snow-driver myself. I would just rather stay off the road.

My mother has gone through and written on the backs of the pictures names, dates or approximations, and locations.


I hate to tell her, but if it winds up in my possession, it's go into the burn barrel.

I suspect that's what will happen to my pictures.

Still on the West coast. Cold but not brutally. The Spoon seems quiet this weekend. Everyone hunker down, have a hot drink, and good food. Think about warmer weather. This mornings Key West MZ will send you on your way!
