The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

You're welcome here. Definitely no snow, highs in summer normally between 20-30c, apple orchards just up the road. As long as you can put up with the grey, wet winter.

And survive the drop bears, and all the other critters who are all not that fond of the invasive species (us).

As long as you don't learn Oz from Duolingo or Crocodile Dundee, we can put you through a six month intensive training scheme that'll rub the y'all off your bits.

I went to bed an hour-and-a-half early last night and realized as I was pulling the bedclothes over me exactly how to solve the problem that's been vexing me. I didn't get back up and do it and I felt proud of my restraint. Instead, I wrote gibberish code in my head all night.

Maybe I should have gotten up to fix it.

Anyway, I finished the NYTimes hard sudoku and it's finally time to solve the problem.

There's a fresh pot of coffee brewing for those who are working the New York Times crossword puzzle. The teapot is hot for those who want a cuppa and there are cheese blintzes on the counter. Once spring comes around, I'm going to have to go through all of the cupboards and do a spring cleaning. @TxRad squirreled away a lot of stuff and there are plot bunnies everywhere.

I'll be over in the corner weeping quietly into my Earl Grey because I can't put any words to paper and it's driving me to despair ...

6 months? That's not nearly enough to learn the 10,458 ways to order a beer in Oz!
It will take at least that long to learn enough slang to make sure you don't pick an embarrassing screen name. Take it from former Bonzer Root - that's important

Great idea, probably really needs it, but don’t open the last cupboard on the left. Tex was very protective about that cupboard and we weren’t allowed even to ask…

Good munchies, BTW. Thank you!

You don't need to learn them all, just the ones relevant to the state you plan to visit. That cuts it down to around 1500, or 4 for Tasmaniacs (little beer, small beer, beer, big beer).

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Sunday.

The 22 lb turkey that I got on sale, that was in the deep freeze is taking WAY longer than I thought to cook.
I'll be up into the late hours picking it clean, once it's finally done cooking.

Frozen turkeys take forever to defrost. My BIL decided we'd have turkey on Christmas, and he took it out of the freezer and stuck it in the fridge Christmas eve.

We had KFC... 🙄

I'm running a small fever, so it looks like I might have a flu instead of a cold.

I did manage to write a progress memo before my body shut down. I still need to develop a figure and a table to go with it. That's for tomorrow.

Oh, Mr D, I am so sorry! Your Bills tried so hard!
I think Patrick Mahomes is the only thing standing between Josh Allen and the hall of fame at this point.

Great game though.I don't care nearly as much about the NFL as I once did. But I do wish that the Bills would win a Super Bowl. Very dedicated fanbase who deserve to be rewarded.

Thank you all, but the VERY worst part is that I now have to root for the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX

Why? you may ask. Simple, I always root for the AFC team (unless it's the Pats or the Traitors) and I don't want to see the ELGSES win the super bowl.

Welcome to Spell with Cherelle!

I've got a fresh pot of coffee going and the teapot is hot. There are assorted donuts on the counter along with some Reese's Cups (Mmmm ... chocolate).

Despite the tears, I did get some electronic words down on electronic paper so I'm happy about that. I'm not happy about the Bills losing but they made a game out of it (unlike the Commanders).

I get it. My two favourite teams are Calgary and whoever is playing Edmonton.

Coffee, coffee, coffee please. It's a little warmer than most of January has been, but it's still below freezing! Ah, nice hot coffee! *blow* *sip* THAT"S what I needed!

Was cold and pissing it down earlier. Had 3 coffees in an attempt to warm up. Then there was a huge thunderstorm overhead, with sudden thunder that led to coffee spillage, and now it's a beautiful clear sunny day with blue skies and little puffy clouds like they're auditioning to be on telly on a Beautiful British Landscape show.

I got some words down last night. Found an old work in process in my google docs and have it just about finished! The sex scene is done, just need to write a wrap up and set myself up for any possible sequels (if any come to mind. I try to always leave something open so I can return to a set of characters if I wish.) This story will be uploaded to Lit when I finish.

I'm under the weather again. WTF! I may go back to bed for a bit now that Donnie is back at school. But I can't, I have work to do.
