I’m going to be heading back to a hotel where I had a very unexpected night with a receptionist… I’m curious how this visit will go. I’m definitely excited about it. I’m curious if she’s even going to be there or will even acknowledge it…
How did that one happen? Did she abandon her post or did you meet her after her shift was over?

We talked at several points throughout the week and evening that night was my last night. Earlier in the evening she had knocked on my door as I was about to jump in the shower and asked if I requested extra towels… I was an idiot and said no, I thought I had ruined my best chance. I went back down after my shower and said that I was mistaken and that I might need extra towels after all. She mentioned that she might be able to bring them towards the end of her shift when her replacement comes in and is getting ready. Needless to say I got the towels and had quick but awesome experience that I hope was mutual.

Love to hear the details - good luck

Does anyone have a favorite backpacks they use when traveling? Something that can hold a computer and miscellaneous gear and works well for flying as well?

5.11 Tactical is the brand. Rush is the line of backpacks. Size will depend on you. I have the Rush 72 (55L) and i freaking love it. It fits under the seat on the plane and overhead bins without problems. It holds a ton of stuff and is pretty robust and well built. I will stay in place on your back while sprinting between terminals (don't ask me how i know that, lol)
I use to have the typical office Wegner backpack, it was awesome but I needed something bigger. You can watch the videos on youtube.

Umm. Kinda offended you didn’t ask me this question.

I’ll send you a picture of mine 🙃

They fall apart before long. Not durable even for car commuting. I can’t imagine trying to travel with one, when it could tear wide open at any time.

I'll be heading to NYC in a couple weeks. I like to travel with a Sandpiper of California (SOC) Bugout Bag. I've had it for about 10 years and it's held up really well. It's got plenty of space and compartments for different stuff and makes a great 72 hour/carry on bag.
