I took a concealed carry class and I am very careful. The guy next to me was so scary. He was firing like he was in a gang or a rap video....he did not return for second half of class.... I was scared shooting next to him..... shooting with the gun horizontal. Pointing it everywhere but in front of him. At one point he shoved it down the back of his pants..... we were in pairs with a trainer to supervise. Our trainer said to me. "Just keep shooting" and he was on that guy.... to the tune of wtf are you doing?

That guy would be tossed off my range inside of 4 seconds. One does not fuck about with firearms. Load them, and one fucks about even less.

Had an LTR with a good nurse longtime ago. I'd make the occasional comment about exercise or diet, and she'd say, none of it means a thing if you smoke.


#1: don't smoke.

#2: everything else.

Drink LOTS of fluids! Not just water but also soups and teas.

Take a hot shower and massage both above your eyes and just below the cheekbones. This, combined with the steam, will help loosen the junk in your sinuses.

Try gargling with warm salt water if you have a sore throat from post-nasal drip.

REST! Get as much sleep as you can.

If you have a fever, consider being seen by a provider for antibiotics. If you don't have a fever, or just a low grade fever, it's more likely viral. Antibiotics won't do anything to kill viruses.

I couldn’t get the vid to work, but needless to say I am a fan of firearms safety overall, a handgun with a manual safety (or revolvers with a heavy trigger pull).

A draw with the finger away from the trigger is de rigeur as well.

I fell asleep early last night watching Elf (after recording Army/Navy and watching it over dinner.)

Busy day. Delivered firewood, filled up my wood bins. Raked the farm yard with the tractor and got our Christmas tree.

Since the outdoor burn ban has been lifted, we had a nice late afternoon fire before dinner.

Didn’t get to my moms, but I’ll get there today.

Someone bought nearly all of my kindling this week so I am selling it in bulk.

I think I used to buy a cord of slab wood for $20 or there abouts. Times change.

Good morning all! I do miss our wood burning fireplace. Just fake gas logs in this home. I guess it could be worse right. It doesn’t get that cold very often here but it is nice to enjoy the smell, crackling sounds.

I do like it. We actually have outside fires a lot. We did a quick fire and had snacks and beer late yesterday afternoon. It was cold (maybe 30), but we had a good fire.

Smoking sucks...
My mom died at age 58 ( 1977 ) and my dad died at age 63 ( 1978 )
They died one year apart from each other
They were both chain smokers...

I grew up in NC. Everyone smoked. Everyone…except my beloved momma. The smokers are all long gone. Even the ones who quit. My mother, God bless her, is still among us and out in the yard piddling around . We’re cooking for the family today.

There was a 60 mins episode from around 15 yrs ago. It was about the “Blue Areas” (areas where people have unusually long lives) and the one in the US is just outside of LA, believe it or not! I’ll find and post the link on here, but the crux of it was researches found the data on this community and went back some 30yrs after they started taking data. The one thing that stuck out from it? If you smoked, you died. End of story.

Good morning everyone. I hope you’ve been able to relax this weekend.

This new sleep schedule sucks. According to the apps and what my Doc says I should be getting 6 hours 45 minutes of sleep a night. I’m going to bed later so I’m “more tired” and I’ll get more quality sleep. Well this morning the alarm went off and I rolled over and got another 90 minutes of sleep. I’ll keep working on it and hopefully I’ll start to se the desired results soon.

Great day yesterday shooting on a dog training day. My boys left at home and carried a gun instead. It was hard work with six hours walking but relaxed with five guns and five handlers. i shot well for a change and we had 40 pheasant and two woodcock. The weather started as the pics….Wow …..then it was and wet. Great to be out though.
