Supreme Court announced today that it will hear former one-term President Donald Trump's specious claim that a President has absolute immunity on all legal matters whilst serving in office. Oral arguments set for April 22nd, Decision mid-June.

Supreme Court walking a tightrope here: they need to delay Trump's prosecution for as long as possible, and then tailor a very narrow decision that only Republican Presidents have immunity. Otherwise, Biden could order Trump executed.

Yes, that is very much a highwire act.

Maybe they can limit absolute immunity to Presidents who the Supreme Court deems as having the telepathic power to understand the intentions of the Founding Fathers. You know, telepathic originalism, and active favor with the Federalist Society.

If there was ever any doubt that the right wing partisan “justices" on the SCOTUS are corrupt to the core, this latest decision seals it.

Former fourth circuit court of appeals Judge Luttig just stated unequivocally that there was absolutely zero reason for the SCOTUS to take this matter up:

Give credit where credit is due (reluctantly)
Two months ago disgraced Trump attorney Alina Habba sent the most unsubtle message in the history of modern jurisprudence to the Supreme Court:
I think it should be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court; I have faith in them. You know, people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place, he’ll step up.
We all laughed at her back then.
Tonight, she gets to laugh at all of us.

The Supreme Court will rule against Donald Trump, of course.
But they will have effectively "run out the clock" on Trump's criminal trial prior to the November election.

The Supreme Court is hijacking the 2024 election.

Taking it back from the lower courts and handing it back to the people, just like R v W.

He's been showing up a lot less lately. Could it be he can't find new and inventive ways to defend Trump?

That "Form 1023!!!" epic FAIL reeeaaally kicked ineedhelp1’s ass.

ineedhelp1 had to seek help for the resulting massive butthurt trauma; which explains their absence and lack of posting.

Good thing they "Fast Tracked" the oral arguments for late April. LOL

Hearing in April, decision early summer, followed by pretrial motions, discovery etc. means a trial might not happen until fall or maybe even later.

Just a statement of facts? No opinion? Just asking.

trump better hope the SC saves him because he will not win the General election no matter what. Causing an insurgency is not an official duty.

People better show up and vote.

If this whole thing hasn't woken people up to the necessity of voting, I don't know what will. Inspiration didn't work. Maybe fear will.
