That didn't take long: Leading Democrat proposes reinstating draft...

You know, we had a draft in the 1960s and the Vietnam War still ground on, killing more Americans and lasting longer then the current war in Iraq. Yet these draft hungry Democrats are so stupid and naive as to think that the war in Iraq will simply end next week if we reinstate the draft. Dumb fucks

This is much ado abou nothing. Whether this is a genuine proposal or a cynical publicity ploy to score political points, either way it's not viable. It's not gonna get votes from either party.

Not the point Ollie. We're actually discussing it. When Rangel was just a minority firebrand it was laughable. Not so now. Hell Olllie, there's a self professed 'staffer' here backing it. (Like I give her any credibility. <shrug>)

The Pentagon's closely guarded review of how to improve the situation in Iraq has outlined three basic options: Send in more troops, shrink the force but stay longer, or pull out, according to senior defense officials.

Well, that's certainly enlightening. Thanks for the input genious. No one would have ever thought of those options without your post.

What to do in Iraq is a separate issue from whether people should be forced to serve in the military, or even if that is a wise idea to suggest it.

It is one thing to support the idea of fighting a war (or not), or continuing to fight a war, another thing altogether to support the idea of forcing people to fight in it. I would dare say that it probably isn't a good practice to get involved in a military conflict if the general populace doesn't have the heart to fight it.

You should have never gone beyond you're first paragraph. That was enough.

You are dealing with an indicidual that is incapable of thinking without tying his thoughts to a specific subject. Limited and shallow.

Was this not the case for most of us when we were young and naive?

Not to mention arrogant, but yes it was and is probably the reason it made me laugh so much.
