Principles Matter ...

This thread began by pointing out a man of principle, George Conway III. This evening, the White House Correspondents' Dinner ended on a remarkable note—delivered by Colin Josts, an SNL comedian about a similar principled man: a fireman, substitute teacher, and house painter.

Colin solemnly spoke from the heart, sharing a little of his grandfather's history as a Staten Island fireman in a predominantly Republican region.

Colin's heartfelt delivery resonated with the audience as he said, “He voted for you, [Joe Biden], and the reason that he voted for you is because you’re a decent man. My grandpa voted for decency, and decency is why we’re all here tonight.”

The national correspondents warmly received this closing statement, which also reflects another great quality of a highly principled man or woman – the subject of this thread.

Any person, to include you, who considers Joe Biden a principled leader suffers from hypoxia due to having their head lodged too far up their ass. You may despise Trump but please don’t elevate Biden to saint hood status. I could write pages of lies, embellished bullshit stories, failures in foreign policies, failures in domestic policies, plagiarism and an inability to lead with principle and courage. Biden is a political snowflake drifting whichever way the political winds blows. Biden is a self serving deep state creation surrounded by a cast of authoritarian Marxist plutocrats. Biden’s leadership has plunged our nation into a death spiral at lightning speed toward mediocrity which will take decades to extricate ourselves from. Biden is a child of DEI and the antithesis of meritocracy. He’s even turned his back on his faith which he hypocritically and falsely brags to being a practicing Catholic. You can separate religion from politics but you can’t profess to being a practicing Catholic while promoting abortion for political points. Biden is a phony and y’all fell for it.
Biden is not considered a saint by the Catholic Church. I believe some miracles are required for that, but I am not sure of that since I am not a Catholic.

Probably, most religious faiths allow people to be sinners and still be a part of the religion. I'm not aware of that as a fact, however.

If you would like to read up on Joe Biden's Catholic issues, I looked this up for you:

If you can't tell the difference between recognizing a flawed human being (as we all are) as nevertheless a principled leader and "elevating to saint hood [sic] status"...but then, I'm pretty sure you can, and simply choose to pretend we deify our leaders the way your side does. Quit projecting.

Catholics are pro-choice in the same proportions as Americans in general are. It's just the church leadership that opposes it. And I won't even bother with the rest of your nonsense.

Principals do matter ...

As we approach the upcoming November Presidential Election, we face a historically significant journey for our nation. That journey requires principled and unwavering leadership, similar to the challenges the Founding Fathers faced in establishing a government that could withstand the test of time. Our Presidential choices stand in stark contrast to one another, and that difference places us at a crossroads in this historic journey. Our ability to remain a nation of laws will be tested as we determine whether we will adhere to the fair and legitimate means of selecting our leaders. Let us uphold our commitment to the will of the people at the ballot box, be it a peaceful transfer of power from one Presidency to the next or extending the Presidency under current leadership for four more years.

We must make wise decisions at the ballot box by being informed of each candidate's offers. We need to ensure a historic level of voter turnout so that no one doubts that a majority of citizens have selected America's choice. We will be voting in the shadows of declarations that our voting system was rigged, that a violent attempt to halt the transfer of power didn’t occur and that this election will again be rigged if one Presidential candidate is not elected over the other. That divergent thinking is not the pathway of our Founding Fathers.

What criteria will you use to make your selections? Will it be campaign rhetoric based on party affiliation or looking back at how our Democracy was formed and holding fast to those values?

Please consider five crucial traits, along with your values and beliefs, as your criteria for assessing moral leadership. These five are fundamentally important and impact leadership effectiveness: integrity, courage, respect, responsibility, and open-mindedness.

Integrity is widely regarded as the cornerstone of principled leadership. Leaders who demonstrate honesty, transparency, and consistency in their actions earn trust and respect from their followers. Look at your candidate for these traits. How does your candidate measure up?

Courage is essential for principled leaders to defend what's right, even in the face of adversity or opposition. Leaders who demonstrate moral courage inspire others to do the same and drive positive change. Is your candidate one that fosters positive change?

Respect for others encompasses empathy, inclusivity, and a commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and fairness. Leaders who prioritize respect foster a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and heard. For the last four years, we have lived through turmoil in this area over divisive partisanship threats. Please give this area extra consideration.

Responsible leadership involves taking ownership of one's actions and decisions and considering their impact on others. Leaders who demonstrate responsibility prioritize the common good and work towards solutions that benefit society. Is your candidate up to the scrutiny? Is your candidate one that you want your children to emulate?

Open-minded leaders are receptive to diverse perspectives and willing to consider new ideas and feedback. By fostering an open dialogue and collaboration environment, these leaders promote innovation and creativity while mitigating the risks of groupthink. Is your candidate keeping an open mind and approaching a good working relationship with all parties involved in government?

Please consider these elements along with your good, conscious decisions in November. Your Nation depends on your choices, and so do the future citizens.

Considering people are still claiming 2020 was rigged and lawyers are already in each state ready to sue, I don't have faith in the average voter with bias to do any of the above.

Integrity and courage to walk away is part of why I like Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr.

Principals matter! ... Take these two candidates for a test drive before you vote:

Integrity is a hallmark characteristic of Joe Biden. He began his political career in 1973 and has been praised for his integrity and authenticity over decades of service. As a senator and vice president, he gained a reputation for honesty and transparency in his dealings with colleagues and constituents and is well known for reaching across the aisle to make deals in the best interests of most Americans.

During his single term in office, President Trump's political career was marred by several controversies that raised concerns about his integrity. Critics have questioned his business dealings, personal conduct, and truthfulness. Despite his repeated claims of honesty, the President has faced multiple allegations of dishonesty and misleading statements in civil and criminal courts. Currently, he faces four indictments with eighty-eight counts.

A quick comparison of their integrity finds Biden is perceived as having a consistent record of integrity. Trump's integrity has been debated, with critics raising concerns about his trustworthiness in politics and personal business dealings. Many of his party members find him lacking yet believe his policies outweigh his faults. His party acknowledges that his ample business deals and political stances have been less than honest.

Joe Biden has demonstrated courage throughout his career, including his advocacy for landmark legislation and his willingness to tackle difficult issues such as healthcare and gun control.

Trump is known for his bold and unapologetic leadership style. He often takes controversial stands on issues such as immigration, trade, and foreign policy.

Both Biden and Trump have shown courage in their leadership, although they may have different approaches to addressing challenges and confronting opposition. One can be characterized as a statesman, the other perhaps as an ex-president robbed of his rightful second term. However, no facts have been found to support that.

Respect is one of Biden’s remarkable assets. Biden emphasizes empathy and inclusivity in his interactions, often reaching across the aisle to work with political opponents and prioritizing unity and reconciliation. The current funding efforts are a mark of that ability.

Trump's respect trait is probably one of the least important characteristics and is seldom publicly demonstrated. His leadership style has been characterized by a more confrontational approach, with critics accusing him of divisiveness and inflammatory rhetoric. He plans to resurrect his old Presidential act of converting federal jobs to be politically appointed. The Trump campaign plan, obtained by The Wall Street Journal, "... would shatter decades of institutional protections built to insulate the Fed from the political whims of the President."

In comparison, Biden is known for fostering positive relationships and bridging political divides, while Trump's leadership has been marked by polarization and controversy.

Biden emphasizes accountability and responsibility in his leadership. He advocates for policies that promote the well-being of all Americans and prioritize the common good over partisan interests.

Trump has faced criticism for his handling of various crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, with some accusing him of shirking responsibility and blaming others for failures. He is unaccountable by any of his personal self-assessments. The current Supreme Court case has his novel view that as President, he must have absolute immunity, or he cannot get the job done.

While both candidates may have different approaches to leadership responsibility, Biden is often perceived as prioritizing accountability and ethical conduct in his decision-making. Trump is perceived as avoiding accountability or responsibility for his actions.

As to open-mindedness, Biden is known for his willingness to listen to diverse viewpoints and consider input from a wide range of sources, demonstrating a commitment to collaboration and consensus-building.

Regarding open-mindedness, Trump has been criticized for his refusal to accept opposing viewpoints and his tendency to surround himself with like-minded individuals, leading to accusations of echo-chamber decision-making.

A side-by-side comparison of the two leaders finds Biden's leadership style as characterized by openness to diverse perspectives, while Trump's approach may be seen as more closed-off and resistant to outside input.

In summary, Joseph Biden and Donald Trump Sr. are as different as night and day in their leadership styles and policy positions. They each demonstrate distinct characteristics when assessed against the criteria of integrity, courage, respect for others, responsibility, and open-mindedness. These factors are self-evident as each candidate hits the campaign train and certainly will play a significant role in voters' assessments of their suitability for the Presidency.

And if Trump wins THEN WHAT? All bets are off? Riots in the streets. One thing I will agree with, people need to make informed decisions and vote their conscience based on what they have experienced. Only one party in our short history has impeached a president twice and attempted to destroy a president’s administration based on hatred. Only one party has ever attempted to prosecute a former president opening a can of worms for past and future presidents and that party is the Democratic Party. Your words ring hollow.

And if Trump wins THEN WHAT? All bets are off? Riots in the streets.
Perhaps. But what do you expect if we put a literal Nazi sympathizer who brags about turning the clock back half a century on women's rights in charge? Rather than attacking the symptom, look at the cause.
Only one party in our short history has impeached a president twice and attempted to destroy a president’s administration based on hatred.
Based on hatred or based on the fact that he tried to abuse his power to get dirty laundry on his opponent, and incited an insurrection? Just because you don't care at best and support what he did at worst does not make those acts any less criminal.
Only one party has ever attempted to prosecute a former president opening a can of worms for past and future presidents and that party is the Democratic Party. Your words ring hollow.
Refresh my memory please. Which party impeached a president over a blowjob?

"If Trump wins (hopefully not), given Joe Biden's belief in the peaceful transfer of power, I expect the handoff of the Presidency to follow as it did in cases for Gore, Trump, and even Hillary Clinton. I hope there won't be any riots in the streets caused by a MAGA-like mentality kicking in. The Democratic Party doesn't have a Trumpian MAGA worship base. We have already seen the January 6th incident as a taste of that, so it's not hard to imagine gun-toting militants rallying for Trump's defeat when he loses again.

Trump is responsible for his actions in the impeachments and the current legal battles. It is shameful to have a former president on trial for anything, let alone four criminal indictments. He was an incorrigible president and voted out of office - legally. His narcissistic mindset has no place in government.

My words ring of hope, and don't swing like the noose fixed on a gallows outside Congress. The specter of hanging Mike Pence on January 6th was by which party-affiliated group of 'peaceful civic citizens'?

Well, maybe, but then your facts about this matter are off.

No one brought impeachment charges for sexual matters against Trump. But for President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, rival Republicans impeached him in 1998. Republicans charged perjury and obstruction of justice related to his extramarital affair with Monica Lewinsky. The Senate acquitted him. It was purely political theatrics by Republicans.

Following the Watergate scandal in 1974, which involved illegal activities by members of President Richard Nixon's administration, including the attempted cover-up of a break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters, Nixon faced impeachment proceedings.

The scandal led to Nixon's resignation before he could be impeached, but there were discussions and legal proceedings regarding potential prosecution. Nixon was pardoned by his successor, President Ford, a Republican. Ford lost his election largely because of that.

The Democratic President Andrew Johnson, in 1868, succeeded Abraham Lincoln. After his assassination, Johnson faced impeachment by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. The impeachment was driven by political differences over Reconstruction policies following the Civil War. Johnson was impeached on charges of violating the Tenure of Office Act by removing the Secretary of War, Edwin M. Stanton, from office without the Senate's approval. However, the Senate acquitted him by one vote.

So not EVER in our short history have we had just ONE Democratic Party attempt to remove a President; Republicans had a hand in several. How short the memory when we get fussy attempting to bolster our causes.

I see you’re well versed in the lunacy font, is it because you’re a lunatic.
This person is a masshole. He can literally get on I90 and view more than one of the seminal events that shaped the making of this country firsthand. Sadly, history is NOT his strong suit. Your post went over his head. I suggest maybe starting first with complimenting the Celtics or Bruins to get his attention.

^^^ Those pictures have been removed from this site multiple times. I'd suggest you edit your post before Admin sees them.

RFK Jr is a conspiracy lunatic. Even his family had the “integrity and courage to walk away” from him.

😆
Conspiracy lunatic is one of the standard labels to throw at people who have too much honesty and integrity to stay partisan.
