The wizard Merlin is on his way to his castle when he stops by the marketplace looking for some new female servants or slaves.

In the area where the slavers are holding their slaves before the auction, i spot a young wiaf trying to hide in the back.

I motion for the slaver to bring her before for inspection.

Sharlinda is pulled foward, with more than a little trepidation. She was not one to expect slavery, yet here she was, being bought by a strange, old man.
Merlin looked her over, made her do some menial tasks to gauge her abilities, than agreed on her purchase. Her p rice was low, for a slave, because she was young and uncooperative. Merlin was sure he could turn her into a willing, happy, adequet servant.
The power merlin contained could be senced by Sharlinda. Scared of the power she didn't understand, she strugled against the slavers when they tried to hand the chains to the old man. Her hands began to glow blue and a giant blue ball of energy (think CHun li's "pronto" super move from Marvel vs. Capcom) formed. Only merlins quick thinking and gread magic saved the slavers, slaves, himself and the girl from harm. He put her in a magical sleep (which she resisted and was put under a more powerfull one) and took her home for more...testing.
