This one was inspired by a dream I had recently:

A number of prostitutes recently "recruited" by a mysterious pimp discover that, much to their shock, their new boss is actually an alien in disguise! The alien pimp (who has also recruited strippers and porn actresses), takes them aboard his ship and into outer space! He explains that human women have a reputation as being among the most beautiful and sexually skilled females in the universe.

The story would follow these women as they work and eventually come to dominate, the intergalactic sex industry.

love the title. That alone outta get you 100,000 views.

I think the idea is a really good one. The only problem I can forsee is that unless you do a Star Trek/Star Wars universe. You know where the aliens are more or less human on most occasions. The other extreme just gets boring. I mean even from somebody who enjoys tentacle sex I couldn't make a series out of it. The the Whores in Space will definitly draw you in at least a jillion readers.

Y'know, there are in betweens. For example, we could have something like an oversized caterpillar. It's got a cock, but no tentacles here. (sure it has multiple arms and legs, but those aren't tentacles)

However, what you say is true, although "more or less" is a very broad term.

For example does this count as humanoid?: http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/gallery/artoftrek/excalbian.jpg

Yeah, I'm actually suprised it hasn't been used yet.

Now I just need to find someone to write this.

Space People!

Yes, the name would catapult you to the top of views. But then what? Here's my problem with people not from this planet...I mean, if you look across the range of Sci-Fi roleplaying games, movies, etc., you encounter a vast array of biped creatures that could probably have a cock, or a cock like apendage (one could play around with that some), but I think the idea of "non-human" turns a lot of people off. I am more interested as a challenge, but it wouldn't do anything for me. I just recently became okay with the whole "horror" thing, with werewolves, and such.

Of course, to develop space travel you need something akin to an opposable thumb (I think...not sure, I have a criminology degree, not biology or engineering), so that would be something close to human, right? Or at least monkey like...

Love the idea! I would love to write a piece like this. If you'd like, feel free to contact me via my email or AIM. I think you're really onto something there, and that it could be a great and original piece for the Nonhuman fans. :)

EDIT: And yes, the title rocks my socks off! w00!

We could always do the FarScape thing and have a race of aliens who LOOK exactly human (and who, for most practical purposes, basically are) so we can throw in some "regular" sex scenes in the story. They wouldn't necessarily be the majority of the aliens you'd encounter, but you could have them be fairly prominent. The pimp could be one of these, I suppose.

I was actually thinking of the Star Trek "Bumpy Forehead" approach.

IE, in everything that matters they're human, but they have inhuman facial structure, or vestigal horns, or weird colored skin, or maybe having extra-limbs.

One thing I was considering was hermaphrodites and creatures with multiple sex organs.

I wonder... there seem to be a lot of people enamored with this idea.

Is there a Lit policy against several authors writing different stories based around the same idea with the same title?

TENTACLE: I don't have AIM, and the Board says you have requested not to recieve any e-mails. Would a PM do?

How very odd; I just checked my User CP and it says that I am allowing people to send me email. Perhaps I'll contact an admin for help on that. In the meantime, feel free to contact me via pm or via my email at blacksunseer@yahoo.com

Being new to the terms of service, I don't really know about the Lit policies regarding plots and titles. I wouldn't mind changing my title if the need should arise, but I do rather like it, hehe. Though I am curious how I give proper credit to the person who conceived the original idea for the story if I did write my own take on it.

Write a note at the beginning. That seems to be the standard way of doing it.
