Why can't the MSM admit RW terrorism exists?

But instead of quoting from my earlier pieces about all of this, I’ll give the last word to Paul Waldman, something for Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly and Ted Cruz and Rand Paul to think about before the next killings:

"When you broadcast every day that the government of the world’s oldest democracy is a totalitarian beast bent on turning America into a prison of oppression and fear, when you glorify lawbreakers like Cliven Bundy, when you say that your opponents would literally destroy the country if they could, you can’t profess surprise when some people decide that violence is the only means of forestalling the disaster you have warned them about."

Old echoes from the men and women, who sought to keep the Right Wing fringe entertained-

"We are just amusing ourselves and our audience."
"It is just entertainment- it is not meant to be taken seriously."
"It was just a joke- you have no sense of humor."
"We are just trying to have a good time. Why are you trying to spoil it ?"

Not so funny, now.- Is it ?

I was keeping track of left versus right wing attacks in a thread I started for the purpose but I got bored with it. As I recall, it was about 50 50.

If you consider neither McGovern nor Obama to be extremists, then who is?

Well, not McGovern, certainly, he was just a liberal, the most extreme thing he wanted to do was end the war and that was not at all extreme considering how unpopular it was (and considering that Nixon had campaigned in '68 on an implied promise to end it).

In the 1960s and '70s, the extremists (on the left wing) were the Weather Underground, SLA, Black Panthers, Malcolm X, the SDS in its later phase (it was not really extremist to begin with) -- no elected officials or career pols, none at all. The only extremists in electoral politics were RWs like Goldwater -- wanting to roll back the New Deal is certainly extreme by any reasonable measure. Outside electoral politics were such extremists as the John Birchers and the Minutemen and the Klan.

Today, our RW extremists are the Tea Party and the White Nationalists and the nativists and the "men's rights" antifeminists and suchlike Angry-White-Male scum. Our LW extremists are . . . that's a tough one . . . Occupy Wall Street, perhaps, if they had an actual agenda . . . The Communist and Socialist parties, if they had any actual visibility, but in fact it's easy to forget they exist at all . . . The Greens, maybe, though their extremism if you can call it that is in directions orthogonal to the usual left-right alignment spectrum . . . In electoral politics, the leftiest figures are Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich, but I would not label even them as "extremists." As for Obama, it's utter nonsense to call him extremist, he's really no further left than Clinton was, and Clinton was a neoliberal DLC DINO.

Why Is Network Television So Afraid of Admitting That Many of America's Terror Attacks Are 'Right Wing?'

CNN has been afraid calling a major social threat by its real name.

June 9, 2014 | In the aftermath of the deadly Las Vegas shooting rampage, which left two police officers, a shopper, and the shooters dead, one can expect all the usual talking points that follow an all too regular and familiar massacre – mental health, access to guns, the killer’s motives, and so forth. But here’s another one: the intellectual cowardice of cable news giant CNN, when it comes to reporting right wing terrorism.

America, meet the Millers.
