America's biggest liberal cities are dying

The liberal cities with the most recognizable brands were once the dream destinations for college graduates and aspiring professionals in various industries. Now, they are all recognized as overrated dumps that have been carried by their reputation for years.

New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., are all seeing a net exodus of college graduates (as is San Jose). Those four cities were typically the finish line for those seeking jobs in media, politics, entertainment, finance, or tech. As New Yorkers used to boast, “If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.” For many college graduates, the goal was to make it in one of those four big brand cities.

No longer. All four are plagued by a crime crisis that has bled out from those icky poor areas of the cities that college graduates avoided and into the rest of the city. New York City’s public transportation isn’t safe. San Francisco is plagued by homelessness. Los Angeles actively refuses to keep violent criminals and gang members off the streets. Washington can’t even guarantee the safety of members of Congress in their own apartments.

Combine that with the stupidly expensive cost of housing in those cities, and you have the least desirable professional destinations imaginable. You can hardly blame the college graduates who are making their way to Tulsa, Oklahoma, or Sioux Falls, South Dakota, among the many cities seeing an increase in working-age college graduates. Arizona, Florida, and Texas are also winners, with cities that still appeal to that demographic that also happen to be affordable and not nearly as dangerous.

These failed cities prove my point that Democrat leadership is a threat to the freedom, security, and economic well being of the American people.

How many "lib cities are ...xxx" threads are enough to let you be heard?

An right-wing opinion editorial from the Washington-based Washington Examiner is talking shit about...Washington?

Good Morning America, Wake up and Smell What's Happening: ABC Reporter Says It's Too Dangerous to Film in Downtown SF

By Bob Hoge | 6:00 AM on June 16, 2023

Two stories this week illustrate just how decadent and dangerous the formerly proud city of San Francisco has become. In the first, RedState‘s Sister Toldjah reported on how conservative author Shelby Steele and his filmmaker son Eli were robbed of tens of thousands of dollars in equipment Wednesday as they tried to film a documentary. The police were overwhelmed—as they always are in San Francisco due to defunding—and were of no help. The irony? The movie the Steeles were making “explores how defunding the police has hurt society.”

Then on Wednesday, ABC reporter Matt Gutman told his live audience that downtown San Francisco was simply too dangerous an area for his crew to film in. I remember watching news crews covering the ’92 L.A. riots, and during the George Floyd mayhem, you’d always find a reporter in a helmet roaming around describing the “mostly peaceful protests.”

Gutman himself was “a Jerusalem-based reporter for seven years, covering every major conflict in the Middle East,” according to his ABC bio. But downtown San Francisco? No—that’s simply too perilous.

Gutman’s piece aired on “Good Morning America” and focused on the “growing real estate dead zone” in the City by the Bay, exemplified by the mall company Westfield’s decision to stop paying on the over $500 million mortgage it carries for a property that is down to only 55 percent occupancy. But it was his last line that said more than all his other statistics and examples combined:

Shitholism is the guiding principle of CA Democrats in San Francisco.

According to Newsom, it's all the Governator's fault... even though Arnie was Gov 13 years ago and there have been 2 Dem Gov's since then.

But research shows the same or worse is happening in more conservative cities. I know you don’t like it when facts get in the way because they cause thinking.

According to Newsom, it's all the Governator's fault... even though Arnie was Gov 13 years ago and there have been 2 Dem Gov's since then.
And no Republicans elected to statewide office since 2006 and none left in such office since 2011.
