Question...

...any way we could change a Spelling Buddy into a Fuck Buddy?

as much as I champion proper diction, it just seems more...practical for this place, is all...

Speaking of fuck buddies...when are you going to astound us with more of your lovely pics? :)

You know, I thought I'd have all this greeeeaaaaat expanse of free time to do stuff when I took off from work for a near-week, but it's amazing how fast one's free time gets filled doing minutiae and other domestic stuff you never had time for before.

However, I did get my workspace set up proper-like, which was a get-it-together main point outside of all the big titty porn "reference" material that fuels my fires...so the ship has definitely set sail, even if it left the port under schedule!

;)

With due respect, I believe both of you are off-base.

My opinion is that the perceived hostility shown towards newbies by the General Board is little more than a ritual vetting process, a juvenile hazing and/or traditional newbie bashing - for the sake of newbie bashing.

Few newbies who show red on their first night, long survive on the GB. Those who roll with the posts and show some humourous spunk (ofmg, kbate said spunk!), usually have a chance of lasting.

The GB newbie bash - serves the purpose of ridding the board of many of those who cannot spell, cannot understand grammar, and cannot tolerate anything but the somewhat revolting niceness that pervades the playground and Ampics forums.

But as usual - I could be wrong. <-- for the backpedal thread.

I hate spunk.

I'd say that Image's, Merriweather's, and kbate's theories are all correct, and I could think of a few others that would fit the motivation of various posters. Unsurprisingly, some people do the same thing for different reasons, and a large number of posters don't do it at all.

Since all three of you are newbs, I understand you mistaking this for a hive mind. :winkyemote:

Emily

Technically we are all nobodies here and this is nowhere.
I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us--don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.

How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!

Indeed we are - and thus cede to your greater wisdom concerning the ebb and flow of the general board. Tell me, Oh Ancient One.

It's not going well in your considered opinion?

It seems to be going fine, but everyone could use a little guidance once and a while.

Actually, we don't seem to have many truly new posters right now (and I mean that literally, not that they're all alts of older posters).

But I happened to link to this thread's companion thread, which had been bumped in August, and, long story short, my decision to bump this thread was determined by rolling dice.
