FRIDAY NIGHT, 8:03 PM, THE WARDROBE MALFUNCTION

"Richard! Help me with my dress!! Richard! Richard? What is WRONG with you?"

panic acing through her already tipsy dizzy mind, turning out the lights on her composure and logic and she didn't even recognize the shrill shrieking voice as her own, so far removed from the haughty tone of entitlement she is known for and as logic lost out to panic winning its war to
overwhelm, a last hope told her if it didn't sound like her then maybe it wasn't her this was happening to because this couldn't be happening to her, shouldn't be happening to her clinging to her composure as desperately as the delicate satin of her very expensive floor length Dior strapless dress helplessly yanking and pulling yet still unable to unsnag the hem caught on the car's hood ornament.

"This isn't happening to me this isn't happening to me this isn't HAPPENING TO ME!"

she abandoned the mantra and the chance she could succeed to free her hem on her own while still holding onto the side slit - now torn nearly all the way up to the top of her thighs, revealing the salon tan skin of her bare legs - revealing them even more as she turned away from the front of the car., twisting her hips to the left where Richard was still just standing like a useless zombie, seemingly clueless to her need for his help.

"RICHARD!"

the burst of unbridled cackling immediately drew her attention to the direction it came from behind the tripod mounted video camera where Steve was looking through the lens and next to him was Mark, holding the boom microphone high above his head and aimed in her direction, his eyes were dancing over her body while his leering smile seemed would never end.

“Don’t just stand there like two IMBECILES! Turn that camera OFF and help! me this
instant!

her shriek surged with the
return of her perfectly practiced bitchiness successful earlier in the evening to put the 19 year-old freshman students from the community college Film class on their toes, yet this time it seemed to have the opposite effect. Neither Steve or Mark showed the same eager to please obedience from before, choosing only to trade dirty smirks.

“Folks, as you can see, our beautiful Alexis is wild about this car.”

hearing Bryce’s voice - doing an overly smarmy salesman impression - she
realized she'd lost focus on him while overwhelmed with panic she never felt and just as her bitchy outburst was returning at least a sliver of composure she could hold to, here he was, joining her on camera with such a self-aware exaggerated swagger aimed straight at her with a wink, she felt aggravated by how handsome he knew he could be, what's more, it seemed her reaction was exactly the one Bryce wanted it to be as he closed in with his approach to stand on camera by her side, she looked away and smiled at the camera, to show him she wasn't going to play into his game... only to realize a moment too late, she had.

“Alexis, why don’t we take a look under the hood?”

with her attention straight ahead at the video camera lens, she didn't see Bryce had changed his direction at the last step that led to her side, choosing to move to the front of the car the hem of her gown was still caught on.

“Wait… WHAT?”

she blushed as she heard how ditzy her voice sounded, unable to escape the thought it was also just what Bryce wanted and he had told her earlier that he always got what he wanted and she had rolled her eyes, now watching wide with the realization what was about to happen to her dress and she was helpless to stop it... all of just like Bryce wanted.

FRIDAY NIGHT, TWO HOURS EARLIER

"Boys? Hello? Richard? Are we going to start rolling camera soon? I've been sitting on this hood for a while now."

Alexis Bellington called out from where she was poised on the hood of the car prepped for the "commercial" video project she had agreed to play the role of the Spokesmodel when her son Richard had been near tears the day before when coming home from his Film/Video course he was taking at the local community college. Alexis immediately was concerned her son was having a bully problem. She was elated with relief to discover her sensitive 19 year-old son was emotional over the literally last-minute drop out by the drama department student Richard had originally cast in the Spokesmodel role. So relieved in fact that when Richard raised his teary eyes and stumbled through his way to trying to ask if she would step in to play the Spokesmodel, she told him she would even before he worked his way to actually asking.

With surprisingly fast dry eyes, Richard informed Alexis what the video assignment was - to make a commercial. When she asked why he chose a "used car dealership commercial, after all, it's not as if her son knew anymore about cars than she did and it seemed such an odd choice, Richard stammered the explanation: it was picked out of a hat. He went on to add all the other students had to pick their choice randomly, too. Alexis had to roll her eyes and finally interrupt Richard by announcing she couldn't care less about what the other students in the class would be filming.

As Richard went on explaining how his commercial would go - only now in the slightly sulky mood he broods with when he leaves her no choice but to scold him to focus - Alexis was already having second thoughts about agreeing to be the Spokesmodel. Of course, that all changed when Richard brought up wardrobe. Her second thoughts evaporated instantly when she heard the words "an elegant floor length dress." Alexis was all smiles when she told Richard to say no more and how much of a wonderful thing it was for his original Spokesmodel dropped out.

Alexis couldn't help how proud she felt when she assured Richard he had made the right decision to ask her to be his new and much MUCH more elegant Spokesmodel. When she added his video was certain to be the best one, Richard smiled.... but it was a smile she couldn't recall ever seeing before. She didn't mention it then and there, simply telling herself she certainly had to have and just hadn't as directly as it was with Richard sitting across the kitchen table that afternoon. It also may have been the way the sun was coming through the sliding glass door. She settled for the simple explanation for what she thought what she had saw as a twinkle of mischief in Richard's eyes. Her son didn't have a mischievous bone in his body, let alone twinkle, in his personality. Thoughts of shopping for a new floor length dress had the smile completely forgotten and not something she even had thought of whether she would ever see it again.

But she would would see Richard's mischievous smile again. And when she did, the certainty of the mischief Richard had inside him - and not only be willing, but capable of? - Alexis would find herself shaken by the unmistakeable moment. She had no idea she wouldn't have to wait long to see it. Or rather how soon she would.

It would be the very next night.

When she was the Spokesmodel.
