Fantasy Land

IC Thread

Storyline: During a University Campus Halloween party, 3 Sorority Sisters are transported by a magic spell to an ancient fantasy land where they are met by a man calling himself The Guide. He tells them that they have been transformed into real versions of that of which they'd been costumed for the party: a Warrior, a Sorcerer, and an Archer.

I would tell you more, but that's all we know so far...

The Guide:
  • Mysterious man responsible for the transport of the "Sorority Sisters" to the land of Rovalia.
  • Was first met by Sharla at a University party.
  • Appears without warning in Rovalia to guide the Sorority Sisters.

"Sorority Sisters": Characters from 21st Century Earth
  • Wendy the Warrior -- Picture, Profile -- Long sword and steel shield.

Class: Warrior

Arms and Armor:
  • Long sword, daggers, and steel shield.
  • Shield; unknown metal but stronger than local, contemporary steel. (More below).
  • Bracelets, forearms; same unknown metal as above.

Physical description:
  • 20 years old.
  • 5'8", 36C-24-36; fit, strong.
  • Slightly wavy brunette hair, long to midback.
  • Deep brown eyes.

Personality:
  • Confident, proud.
  • A true leader; she was often her teams' Captain, as well as a Princess and/or Queen of several high school dances.
  • Sexually confident as well; guys like her and she likes guys, though, she's no slut.
  • Loyal to her friends; a real team player and defender of the vulnerable.
  • Ambitious; wanted (wants?) to become rich and famous.

About her "Wonder Woman" costume:
  • She was dressed as Wonder Woman for the University Campus party.
  • She doesn't transform into Wonder Woman, though.
  • Her shield, sword, and bracelets are made of a steel much stronger than anything in the Land of Rovalia. However, while they seem to be as heavy as steel, they are barely heavier for Wendy -- and only Wendy -- to bear and use than the cheapo plastic toys that they were when she bought them for the party.

NOTE: At one point, she introduces herself as "Wendy of Portlandia; she and her Sorority Sisters grew up in an unnamed suburb of Portland, Oregon.

Class: Sorcerer

Arms and Armor: Hit bonuses are found in a recent IC post (so that I don't have to update them in multiple places).
  • Tome of Magic
  • Staff: primary physical weapon.
  • Daggers (2): she carries them, but (currently) she is untrained in them and really doesn't like them.

Magic Spells: Success Bonuses in a recent IC post.

Physical description:
  • 22 years old. (The eldest of the friends.)
  • 5'8", 34C-24-36; fit but not overly muscular; beautiful, soft, supple body.
  • Curly, wavy sandy-blonde hair (with added highlights), long to her upper back.
  • Hazel eyes.

Personality:
  • Confident, intelligent, ingenious.
  • Quite and reserved, except around friends.
  • A true bookworm, spending hours a day reading and researching.
  • Very interested in the unusual, including the occult, Pagan rituals, natural living, etc.
  • Loyal to her friends and to vulnerable people, though, unlike Wendy, she wasn't the stand up to bullies type.

Sexuality:
  • A virgin at RP's beginning: kissing and heavy petting with 3 people:
    • A boy in high school.
    • A woman Freshman year of University.
    • A man Sophomore year of University.
  • Since the start of the RP:
    • She told Marcus that she was a virgin and might be interested in being his lover.
    • However, before that happened, she became lovers with Meena the Lover (Picture, Profile), who is also her Apprentice.

About her "Druid" costume:
  • It was originally a very simple cloak with underlayers of faux-leather and wool.
  • It is now thick wool, real leather, and intricately designed.
  • Her satchel -- which previously had been a vinyl purse from Salvation Army -- is now leather with bone fittings and has little pockets for magical needs, as well as a large, central pocket for a magic tome that replaced the old, ratty Bible that she'd been using as a fake Magic Book.

Physical description:
  • 21 years old.
  • 5'5", 110#, 32B-22-32; petite but fit.
  • Naturally dirty blond hair, very straight, long to her lower back; more often than not in some form of braids.
  • Deep blue eyes.
  • She now has Elf ears!

Personality:
  • Confident, bold;
  • Not introverted but not extroverted either; she's rarely the first to speak up amongst her friends, but she's never afraid to add her two cents either.
  • She is a nature nut, spending afternoons and weekends recreating out of doors.
  • She is capable with a bow and crossbow both; she hunts with the former and competes with both.
  • Loyal to her friends and not afraid to stand up to bullies.

Sexuality:
  • Pre-RP:
    • One male lover each in high school and University.
    • One female lover at University (on a dare from Wendy, who's been with multiple women).
  • During the RP:
    • She has become lovers with Matthew, a Swordsmanship Master at Riverbend.

About her "Elven Ranger" costume:
  • She was dressed as an Elf for the party, in polyester, faux-silk and -leather, carrying plastic weapons.
  • After coming to Rovalia, she is suddenly in real silk and real leather, carrying a metal sword and a pair of matching daggers.
  • She has pointy ears! The plastic ears she was wearing are now real, rising up a full inch to a triangular point!

Physical description:
  • 18 years old.
  • 5'4", 115#, 34B-24-34; average shape with nice curves.
  • Blond hair, slightly wavy, down beyond her shoulders.
  • Gray-blue eyes.

Personality:
  • Confident, bold; a risk taker.
  • She has never used weapons before, but it will be learned that she is very capable with a bow.
  • She was married but her husband, Hugh, was killed by Count Quinn's men for their own pleasure.
  • Loyal to her village and people.

Her story:
  • She appears first in Post #3 as a woman simply fleeing from 3 riders, but she isn't really introduced until Post #7.
 
Sharla the Sorceress's
Magic Spells & Other Abilities

"Mud" -- Offensive/Defensive
  • Bonus: +3 (+5 if ground is already wet).
  • Effect:
    • Ground between Sharla and others becomes damp, saturated, or impenetrably boggy, depending upon the d20 roll.
    • With experience, Sharla will be able to cast the effect to a place other than between her and others.
  • Requirements: Sharla must have one hand in contact with the ground.
  • Special Notes: to friends, the ground remains seemingly solid.
 
"Shine" -- Offensive/Defensive
  • Bonus +3
  • Effect:
    • Blinds target(s) with bright sunshine;
    • Severity, duration, and number of targets affected are dependent upon die roll.
  • Requirements:
    • Daylight spell only.
  • Special Notes: direct view of the sun increased success.
 
"Flames" -- Offensive/Defensive
  • Bonus
    • +2 if an existing flame is only within sight.
    • +4 if a torch, candle, burning object, etc., in Sharla's hand.
    • +8 if Sharla is herself in contact with the source of the flames (such as having her hand in the coals of a fire), however, she also endures burn injury which she must then heal through spell or first aid.
  • Effect:
    • The flame on which the spell is casted explodes or grows large as Sharla demands.
    • With experience, she will be able to actually direct the flame, even creating a fireball with greater experience.
    • She will also soon learn to create a fire from heat and fuel.
  • Requirements: a fire within view.
  • Special Notes:
    • Currently, she is able to use this spell multiple times in a fight but with a -5 penalty for each use. (See exception below.)
    • Currently, if she uses the direct-touch capability and suffers burn damage, she cannot use the spell a second time.
 
"Hiss" -- Offensive/Defensive
  • Bonus (+1)
  • Effect: causes the target to hear and/or see (depending upon d20 roll) one or more snakes hissing at him.
  • Requirements: currently, contact with the ground (which will become unnecessary with experience).
  • Special Notes: the higher the roll, the greater the effect, to the point of being able to practically paralyze multiple targets with great fear.
 
"Power of the Earth": -- Offensive/Defensive and Other
  • Bonus +3
  • Effect:
    • Combat: causes those who work with the earth (farmers, ranchers, Rangers, etc.) to become more courageous, bolder, stronger, etc.
    • Labor: does the same as above to give such people more endurance and enthusiasm to work on such projects as farming, building natural objects (dams, levees, etc.), and other such tasks.
  • Requirements: physical contact with the earth
  • Special Notes: in peaceful situations, a gathering of people in a ceremonial-like setting increases the spells success (+5).
 
"Heal" -- Medicinal
  • Bonus (+5)
  • Effect:
    • Prevents pain, infection, etc.
    • Can heal wounds and even dissolve scars.
    • Reverses illness, fevers, etc.
    • With experience, Sharla will even be able to cure chronic diseases and reverse aging. Wow, I know!
  • Requirements:
    • Peace and quiet increases the spells effect. Battle field use has a penalty proportional to the mayhem.
    • Time with the patient: the more spent with them, the more often the spell can be casted and the larger the bonus allowed.
  • Special Notes: using it to cure chronic illness or reverse aging is exhausting and can even be dangerous to Sharla.
 

Class: Warrior (Level 5)

Arms and Armor: he knows how to use every weapon
  • Long sword, daggers, ax (at times): Hit Bonus: +7
  • Bow, crossbow, spears: Hit Bonus: +5
  • Shield adds defensive bonus.
  • Damage Bonus: double on horseback with sword and spears.

Physical description:
  • 35 years old.
  • 6'; fit, strong.
  • Curly, dark, brunette hair.
  • Deep brown eyes.
  • Facial scars: two slashes from right eye socket to lower cheek; sword attacks.

Personality:
  • Confident, proud.
  • A leader of men:
    • Had been an Officer in the King's Guard until the King was overthrown by a group of Nobles calling themselves The Barons.
    • Has worked for Count Turan since then but, honestly, he dislikes the man greatly.
  • Sexually aggressive; likes women but also takes pleasure from younger males.
  • Looking for a worthy wife.
  • Note -- He'd do just about anything to claim Wendy as a mistress or wife.
  • Ambitious: wishes to be legitimately declared a Noble and will do about anything to make it happen, once there is a legitimate King (Queen?) to bring this about.
 
Matthew

Arms and Armor:
  • Weapons: bow (+5; combine her Class bonuses).

Magic:
  • She is destined to learn magic.
  • But she is also destined (per the Seer's prophecy) to aid in the magical power of her Master/Mistress (who, at the time of this post, was Sharla).

Physical description:
  • 18 years old.
  • 5'5", 32B-22-32; petite and tight; freckled, fair skin.
  • Long, curly, auburn hair, long to mid-back.
  • Deep blue eyes.

Personality:
  • Confident, determined.
  • From childhood, she knew she was destined to become the lover of a magic user; the prophecy said Wizard, but then she met Sharla the Sorceress.
  • Sexuality:
    • She was not only a virgin at RP's beginning but had never laid hands upon another nor had hands laid upon her.
    • Upon learning that Sharla was a magic user, she knew she was to be Sharla's lover and seduced her.
    • The two became lovers the very night the two met.
 
Sharla the Sorceress

"Tweet Tweet" -- Offensive/Defensive
  • Bonus: +2 (+5 if a flock of birds is nearby).
  • Effect:
    • Birds will attack Sharla's target, pecking and clawing and otherwise disturbing and distracting them.
    • With experience, Sharla will be able to command larger flocks and more deadly birds, such as raptors.
    • She can also attract insect eating birds to fields to devour crop eating bugs.
  • Requirements: Sharla must be out of doors.

Sharla the Sorceress

"Courage" and "Fright" -- Offensive/Defensive
  • Bonus: +2 (+5 if she herself has successfully attacked enemies within sight of the subjects of this spell).
  • Effect of Courage:
    • Increases the courage of the subjects of the spell.
    • With experience, Sharla will be able to embolden more people for longer periods.
  • Effect of Fright:
    • Decreases the courage of the subjects of the spell.
    • With experience, Sharla will be able to frighten more people for longer periods.
  • Requirements: Subjects of the spell must be looking at Sharla.
  • Special Notes: with experience, she will be able to actually turn a foe into a friend for a period of time.
 
Sharla the Sorceress

"Fertility" -- Productivity
  • Bonus: +2.
  • Effect:
    • Increases the fertility of the soil, the fish quantity of the body of water, and even the likelihood of pregnancy of a female subject.
    • With great experience, Sharla will even be able to make crops grow before your eyes. (Not much, but possibly days, weeks, or even months of growth. Babies will not be born early, though they will be healthier if Heal is simultaneously casted.)
  • Requirements: Must be casted during a moment of peace.
 
Amy, you need to Quote and Post Sharla's spells that I originally posted so that you can edit them yourself. The original idea that I would post them and edit them isn't going to work if I posted some and you posted some, so you take them.

After you do that, you will need to change the links in Sharla's profile, too.
