You say its very "UNcommon" but yet you then say "I know". You obviously don't keep up with times. Incest is NOT as uncommon as you think. Its even prevalent between mothers and daughters just as between fathers and daughters as we're lead to believe by the media. Men are always portrayed as the predator but no mention is made of the women who are just as guilty. I've experienced incest since childhood and into my adulthood. Throughout my 58 years have read many cases of it. You're speaking of your only case which is not indicative of everyone's situation. But you are correct in that many times it is not consensual. That doesn't mean there aren't situations in which it is. You can't speak for everyone.

Actually it's the other way round. Incest is extremely common. In most communities some blood relationships are not considered incest. In other parts - marriages between first cousins, aunt/nephew, uncle/niece are actually the norm.

Even where Incest is taboo, one normally hears only of the relationships that ho horribly wrong. In Incestuous relationships that work the participants usually don't talk about it for fear of social stigma. But because it isn't out in the open, it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
