Changing the point of view of a story

Been there, done that. And I'll agree with those who say it's much more involved than merely changing pronouns.

"Can" being the operative word here. Too many people could but don't, which yields a story which has no reason to be in 1p.
first person gives you that wonder, that joy, or horror, of a first time experience for the characters eyes
It's not automatic. 1p doesn't give you this, the author gives you this if they actually make the effort to do so. Just putting a narration into 1p doesn't magically create this 1p power experience.
