Who's the best poet on Literotica (in your opinion)? Who writes the most exquisite, sensual poems? WriterDom, tigerjen, or (that bratty upstart) daughter? Or someone else? (If so, who?) Please explain, at least briefly, why you like the works of the poet in question so much.
:)

Lawd. Not voting

RED--

What are you doing? This upstart is trying to make love not war? Remember those words?

You ain't right, RED. Of course, you said that already.

Peace,

daughter

Just friendly competition

Whaaat? I just think it'll be fun, that's all. I'm not trying to start a war here-- I respect the work of all three poets, yourself included, daughter. You create a very sleek, sensuous mood with your poems. But LE is all about competition. All the stories and poems are subject to voting by readers-- unless the author turns that off, which I think is kinda chickenshit. There's monthly contests, special contests like the recent Halloween one, annual awards, etc. What's the harm in a little friendly competition among three quite good poets?

Anyway, I see you're tied with "Other" for the lead, with one vote apiece. You voted for yourself, didn't you, you little vixen? O, you're so cute!
;)

And you said it, babe-- I can't be held accountable for my actions because I'm totally INSANE! Whacko, bonkers, cookoo, spaced out, twisted, warped, psychotic, bats in the belfrey, a couple of tacos short of a combination plate! (Did I miss any?)
:p

Nutty, bananas, mad, loco, unbalanced, deranged...

A few beers short of a six-pack...

A few clowns short of the circus...

A few carrots short of a casserole...

A few french fries short of a happy meal...

A few singers short of a barbershop quartet...

A few garments short of a full monty...

<grin>

Nope

REDWAVE--

Didn't do it. I haven't even looked at the results.

Granted I enjoy competition, but let's be frank. Some believe newbies should be reserved and observe. I've flunked that big time.

I'm bold RED, but I try to exercise some diplomacy. :)

Yes, I wanted to make the Tops list. I achieved that. Hopefully folks will like what they read and read more. On very good day, I'll get some feedback.

Thanks for the compliments. Just a poet tryin' to get her groove on.

It's all good, RED. Do your thing. This is your gig.

Peace,

daughter

I voted other......there are so many good ones that I have read {thanks daughter for getting me to read them} that there is no way to vote just for one.

Just teasing

I was just razzing you, daughter-- I didn't think you'd voted for yourself. But you can, you know, if you want to.
:)

Anyway, so far "Other" is leading. All hail the nameless poet!
:D

Where are the real Poets?

The choice on the poll is a little thin. There are alot more than three poets on Lit. My personal favourite is Debbiexxx. If you want a good response I suggest you look outside your little mutual admiration and self promotion society.

Phwew!

Whoa! A bit testy, aren't we? I'll try to add Debbiexxx to the list. (Any other suggestions from anyone?) Since I started the thread, I should be able to do that. If not, I'll get a moderator or madam to help me.
:)

And as far as self-promotion and mutual admiration, I didn't put myself on the list. I do kinda like daughter, I must admit, but the other two I picked because their names are all over the poetry toplist, plus I've read their work and liked it. And so far, "Other" is running away with it anyway.

OK, Debbiexxx is added now, dude. Nice buns, BTW.

What a compliment and honor!

Redwave! :)

It is a compliment and an honor to be part of
your poll! You are awesome! *HUG*

Thank you!

Tigerjen

_ Well now that your LORD is here, there's really NO competion! BLESS you all, poets!

:D Hey, REDWAVE, et. al., whatever you've written was inspired by ME. ;)

:) While I do LOVE you all dearly, :p my sweet little lambs and horny little goats, just remember to pray, "Ahmen !" now and again.

 'cuz if I entered my Holy Bible in this silly contest  there'd be NO COMPETITION at all, now would there? ;)

Like unto my holy spirit, Kin Ky, be FREE! Bless you all, children, write away, and THANK GOD for your poems & KinkyLOVE!

There is a God, after all!

Well, welcome, Prince of Peace. It's an honor to have such a distinguished visitor to my humble little thread. I guess there's no point in having a contest now, since you can always change the results with just a wave of your hand.
:D

BTW, you wouldn't be KinkyLOVE reincarnated, by any chance, would you?
;)

All Power to the Divine Penis!

Nope not testy at all. Blunt maybe. I still go with what I said originally. It was a comment only.
Debbiexxx is a favourite of mine because she writes on many different subjects. Erotic and non erotic.
The way she writes her poetry makes me believe the passion, lust , sadness and so on. She is descriptive and her words arousing.

I think this poll is not such a good idea. The Literotica Awards will be in a few months. Wait until then to see what the (mostly bulletin board) readers vote for.

Like one person said, there aren't many choices. Plus, I think we're a pretty tight group here in the Writer's area of the Bulletin Board. It would be sad if this caused hurt feelings.

Also, how is turning off voting chickenshit?

__ Quick & DIRTY answer. Ai will SEX-plain more later in new thead, BUT first in FUN!

Not "reincarnated" REDWAVE - transsubstantiated. :) Sound miraculously kinky? :(
It's no biggie for one BLESSED with multiple-personality character "dis"order.

;) Let me briefly explain now that you've guessed my name yet remain puzzled by the nature of my game:

 Marilyn_Manson BUGGERED the VIRGIN MAMA-SAN, who shat me out.
KinkyLOVE is our whorely ghoul, & we're gonna inherit this turf.:eek:

P.s. I'd also forgive KillerMuffin for being offended by all my colors, butt of course she's already put me on ignore, and anyway I didn't actually read her post 'cuz when I registered I put her on ignore immediately in a pre-emptive strike. ;) Not only is her poetry divine, butt the killerest muffin never loses a pissing off contest.

__ I HATE to say this . . .

Behind all her weird colors, she's beginning to make some sense. I'm not ready to admit it openly yet because, lets face it, courage is required in the face of peer pressure. I have lots of old friends here, and I enjoy being an "insider", but some of them are beginning to sound just like gossipy old maidens whose favorite pussy has been goosed by some black anarchist. I NEVER put Kinky on ignore because I'm bored by the same old shit all the time, and even at her worst, she's not the least bit dull.

Hang on, Kinky, Kinky, Hang on!

- a secret Kinky LOVER

REDWAVE could you please remove my name from the poll?
Thanks for the kind words Bigrednz but I would prefer to not be included in the poll.

REDWAVE pm/email me if you would like to know why.
I want to keep this off the board.
Thanks
Debbie

Rock & Roll!

Well, we're having fun now, aren't we, boys & girlz? We have no less a personage than J.C., the Man Himself, blessing our thread with his holy presence. Of course, J.C. is really KinkyLOVE in disguise, and she's even higher up in the celestial pantheon than he is! Go, Kin Ky, go-- I dig ya, and I think I understand where you're cummin' from, although I'm not sure!
:D

But all seriousness aside, folks, Whispersecret doesn't think this poll's a good idea, 'cause it might cause dissension among this "pretty tight" group here. Yeah, I know, most of the time I'm pretty tight myself! And my asshole used to be pretty tight, but, well, you know, it's kinda loosened up from all that pounding!
:p

And you see how it is, bigrednz, you accomodate one person, and you displease someone else. What's a poor little queer pot-smoking commie to do?
;)

Gee, another cliqued popularity contest.

Yeah, this was a good idea. Uh-huh, yup, sure.

You are aware that there is a voting function at the bottom of every poem, right? And that at the end of the year Lit does an awards thing that includes best poet, right?

If you like these poets, wouldn't it serve them better if you started a thread that said "I like Tigerjen's..." "I like Daughter's..." and stick the poem title and a link to it in there and then explain why you liked it? Forcing a competition between people without their permission is pretty rude behavior and not at all in keeping with spirit of Literotica. Laurel wants to promote all authors, not just one or two.

And no, this is not jealousy speaking. I am fully aware that the poetry I write resembles what a mule left behind. I think this thread is anti-poet, not pro-poet.

My question remains unanswered.

Redwave, you remind me of Ambrosious. Is he still around?

Who dat?

Who's Ambrosious? No, I'm not him/her. At least, I don't think I am. But then, how do we know who we really are, anyway? Who am I? What does the word "I" mean? . . . O no, you've thrown me into an identity crisis!
:D

Gosh, KillerMuffin, you mean people can vote on stories and poems here? Why, gee, I never noticed that! I wondered what that weird shit at the bottom of the page was. And they have contests and awards here? Nah! Get out!

Sorry I forgot about your question before, Whisper. I think turning off the voting is a little chickenshit because if you're a serious writer at all, you want to get your work out to the public, which means subjecting yourself to the hurly burly of public comment, which includes both accolades and kudos, on the one hand, but also ridicule, scorn, and even sometimes downright nastiness, on the other. But hey, if an author wants to turn off the voting on a piece, he/she has that right.

As for rudeness, yeah, well, I'm just a rude motherfucker. So sue me. But I don't mean this to be anti-poet. We all know poetry gets read a lot less than stories, so I think good poets should get as much recognition as possible. But so far "The Unknown Poet" is running away with it, which is kinda cool.
:)

And if my posting this poll pissed anyone off-- GOOD!
:p

REDWAVE--

Since this poll, TigerJen's scores have steadily climbed. Not a single dip. Clearly, she is favored. Kudos, TigerJen.

Everytime I come close, I take a hit. I'm being picked off like a duck.

Me thinks your poll has inadvertenly ticked off some fans. :(

Peace,

daughter
