The administration "has determined that it would be unfair to require individuals in this situation to make a (penalty) payment," the Health and Human Services department said in guidance issued Monday evening. As a result, the department is creating a special one-time hardship exemption for people who get covered by March 31. And they won't have to file additional paperwork to apply for the exemption.

In other news today the president fell face-first deep into a dung heap. Showing a resolute steadfastness that is a hallmark of his presidency he actually rose like a nascient Messiah and strode forward through the crowd ignoring those hateful people who so disrespectfully wrinkled their noses in his presence.

Jay Carney assured the press pool that the president meant to do it as a sign of his love and respect for the downtrodden masses of the world and symbolically what they go through on a daily basis.

He went on to answer a few questions including pointing out how ridiculous it was to inquire as to whether or not the excrement might be considered by some to be offensive to their olofactory sensibilities.

Carney amplified to explain that neither the President nor the clinging bovine excretia were the slightest bit unpleasant. In point of fact, the general consensus of all of the experts that surround the president is that he had a very pleasing aroma about him.

The post above shows exactly why 'conservatives' can't be negotiated with. Even when an inch is given, as was in extending the deadline before fines on those who may not be able to get insurance because of a technical glitches, the "loyal opposition" (we need a sarcasm font) uses the opportunity to berate the President rather than accede that anything good or right was done for the people.

Is that what that post was about? I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

It was in response to the ridiculous assertion above that somehow the problems with Obamacare are iin any way shape or form brought on by what you're calling disloyal opposition.

And if you would read for context you would see that I'm not berating the president rather I am laughing at those of you who refuse to consider that from time to time the emperor has no clothes.

You must have been living under a rock throughout the entire Bush administration.. Or you never once watched FauxNews the entire time. I laid out many reasons why the healthcare.gov rollout has been less than smooth. Many of those reasons due to the 'loyal opposition's" repeated attempts to make it fail by withholding funding. Refusing to consider minor changes to the law, questioning the use of existing HHS funds to implement the law while aforementioned funding was delayed indefinitely.

The GOP wanted the ACA to fail and have done everything in their power to try to make sure that it does. Their only motivation was making President Obama a single term President by dragging their feet on ever piece of legislation, even those of which they approved, until the President backed it as well.. They failed and have spent every minute since trying to exact revenge by trying to make his signature piece of legislation fail.

That was. Nice attempt at a straw man argument. But the Peresident has been called out on his failings, many times, by the "liberal media" and those of us who supported him. But that doesn't fit in with how you want us to have behaved.

As we've already discussed, Obamacare has built in funding it doesn't have to be funded by anyone that needs no permission to do anything. Any delays at all we're at the discretion of the administration and no one else so quit trying to pretend it's otherwise

Senate Republicans tried to intimidate Sebelius out of using existing HHS funds to implement Obamacare. "Would you describe the authority under which you believe you have the ability to conduct such transfers?" Sen. Orrin Hatch demanded at one hearing. It's difficult to imagine the size of the disaster if Sebelius hadn't moved those funds.

House Republicans refused to appropriate the money the Department of Health and Human Services said it needed to properly implement Obamacare?

Republican governors who told the Obama administration they absolutely had to be left to build their own health-care exchanges -- you'll remember that the House Democrats' health-care plan included a single, national exchange -- and then refused to build, leaving the construction of 34 insurance marketplaces up to HHS?

The GOP has actively tried to sabotage the law at every opportunity. Only a partisan hack would refuse to acknowledge that.

This does not absolve the Democrats of any culpability. They allowed this to happen by attempting to negotiate with the GOP even after it was clear that they were not negotiating in good faith. They should have done what they're already being accused of. Scrap all GOP amendments and put through single payer or a national exchange.

Uh Sorry that definitely is actually my bad. I'm not big on gender normity and I guess I shouldn't have assumed from the name gender.

As I've explained countless times, including starting an entire thread on the subject at one point when I was using this phone once before, I can't see a thing that voice to text rights until after I posted it... then I have to go back and painstakingly added it why it's worth my time in trouble I have no idea clearly I have no life.

This is my third of four versions of this phone the 4th one quit entirely and I've had to roll back to version 3.0 which was wholly unacceptable.

Why is it that liberals attribute anything they don't agree with to be anger? I especially love the idea that the volume of what I have to say somehow can be Numerically quantified as an expression of anger I've heard that on more than one occasion.

I'm ratther verbose regardless of my mood.

I can't believe how close to the mark I was. Its not like I don't know people in so-called real life who get their news in ways that I imagine that you do. I don't mean that as a condescending snark although it's hard to take it any other way.

What I mean by that is there an awful lot of people who aren't particularly all that genuinely interested in either political discourse or any of the surrounding things as far as economics or legislation other than how it relates to them as the constituency for whatever particular issue.

That's actually perfectly reasonable. I myself don't particularly feel like a political junkie I kind of think that some of that manusha is just not that interesting. Its just lot of things that I am actually interested in do seem to find ways to either be helped or hindered by a national government something that I would rather they didn't.

Unless you're kidding about googling Jay Carney if you really had no idea that almost everything that you've ever express that I've read in the past month or so, came directly from J Carneys mouth.

It is then repeated by various people who happen to agree with him, and wish to advance the agenda of the Obama administration. Just because its propaganda doesn't necessarily mean that one shouldn't repeat it. If one wants to advance a particular agenda the best way theoretically to advance and agenda is to repeat the propaganda that has been specifically designed to advance it

I'm not sure what you thought my gender was. But I'll take either. For the rest of it, it's that you start out sort of coherent and break down over time. That type of degradation in schemas is an indication of some type of powerful emotion that's causing you to write (or speak, I suppose) without the time to edit out your errors. When I see something like that, my first thought is extreme excitement or anger. Plus, a lot of conservatives tend to be older people, and I know that I, personally, am watching out for a grandfather (IRL) who has those same traits, and we young folk... we worry. It's not a 'liberal' thing persay, it's a generational thing. We don't want you to be angry because we don't want you to get hurt, with the diseases that stress causes. Well, I don't. Some people probably angry up the blood because they think it's funny.

I don't have TV. I don't watch TV. I work in taxes. I have to know tax law. In the off season, my job is literally sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day reading anything that can have an influence on my clients. That's why I post here all damn day off and on in the tax season. I pissed a lot of people off by not knowing who Rush Limbaugh was earlier. I don't consume that kind of media. I don't have time for it. I've got a fuckton of hobbies, a job, a pregnant gf, a fucked-up family, and a slew of volunteer work. When I consume media it's going to be something to calm me down, not something to piss me off. Life's too fucking short.

I don't at all question what you say about your sources for input. Wouldn't you say that it's sort of interesting that a lot of what you have to say comes right out of the mouths of that handsome man in the picture.

If I can step off of my right leaning soap box for a moment just to point something out about advertising... advertising works or they wouldn't do it. There are principles unknown to me but certainly know the advertisers that they rely upon in order to advance their messages. I mean I understand the basics Of propaganda but I am sure don't know anything about the fine nuances of how to structure a message to sell.

You know where I learned the 7 types of propaganda? It was in my 7th grade journalism class. Of course they weren't teaching us how to use journalism to influence people they were teaching us how to keep propaganda out of your writing.

It was carefully explain to us that the only place the reader should have any idea what the writer's opinion was is on the editorial page is that if a reader can sense a slant In a straight news story even a hint leaning one direction or the other you have not done your job as an objective journalist..


That is certainly not the standard of ethics of anyone in the news on the right or the left the fact that we talked about news on the right in news on the left is in and of itself problematic.

There's the theory of the great lie repeat a lie big enough and bold enough long enough people will believe it. Its probably colored by which side of the street I'm walking down but it sure seems to me like the charge of lying gets slung from left to right on a regular basis..

On the other hand if someone gets caught in a lie it is demonstrable that it is a lie and they are on the right it's clearly identified as such. When someone on the Left gets caught in a lie there's always an exclamation and it isn't actually a lie.
