Every time some outlier in the Republican Party pops off with something outside of the Liberal mainstream of thought, it is vindication, proof and justification for never voting for a Republican for the whole party is too radical, but when it comes to radical Islam, you are very careful and persistent in noting that it is just a small, tiny, insignificant part of Islam and are self-assured that the average Muslim is no different than you and I are (unless you are a damned dirty conservative neanderthal ape).

I want to ask because I have seen several examples of this in the media and even more in my conversations here.

Honestly, can we talk?

Is it you?

I believe most people respond to code words, like dogs do. Dogs know 200 words or so, and they link specific words with specific events. When I say SNACK my dogs know its time for a meaty treat. OUT gets a response. Its like the FARSIDE guy said, Your dog hears BLAH BLAH BLAH GINGER BLAH BLAH BLAH TREAT?

That said, your average librul chick knows shit about Islam and its crude practices. A few saw LAWRENCE OF ARABIA and that's what they know. IT IS WRITTEN!

I did not think you would have the metaphorical balls to enter and reply into a thread inspired, in no small part, by our conversation of the weekend...

But do not feel too important; you are just one of many.

(AP) Agents: 44 gunned down in Nigeria mosque
By HARUNA UMAR and MICHELLE FAUL
Associated Press
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria

Suspected Islamic militants wearing army fatigues gunned down 44 people praying at a mosque in northeast Nigeria, while another 12 civilians died in an apparently simultaneous attack, security agents said Monday.

Sunday's attacks were the latest in a slew of violence blamed on religious extremists in this West African oil producer, where the radical Boko Haram group, which wants to oust the government and impose Islamic law, poses the greatest security threat in years.

It was not immediately clear why the Islamic Boko Haram would have killed worshipping Muslims, but the group has in the past attacked mosques whose clerics have spoken out against religious extremism. Boko Haram also has attacked Christians outside churches and teachers and schoolchildren, as well as government and military targets.

Good mornin' chief!

To address your question (which will no doubt result in an ad hominem and/or non sequitur reply on your part), I try not to paint with a broad brush.

I wouldn't blame ALL Muslims for the actions of a radical few any more than I'd blame ALL libertarians for the words and deeds of a radical libertarian such as yourself.

In the immortal words of the philosopher Donnie Osmond, "one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl!"

I asked you not to get too emotionally involved.

It is not just you who has a knee-jerk reaction to Christians, Conservatives and the Religion of Peace.

The question is one of conflict resolution...

A_J's corollary #3, “The New Age Liberal maintains contradictory positions comfortably compartmentalized. (This is because the New Age Liberal is a creature that believes in consensus as a short-cut to an examination of the facts and a reasoned judgment about said facts. Corollary #2.)”

The ascription of your positions to the quote New Age Liberal unquote aside, do you feel we should hold an entire group responsible for the actions of a relative few?

Throb you aren't even people.

They would reject your dead fat ass as not up to the standards of Soylent Green...

not clear? REALLY? NOT CLEAR???????????

Since I am one of those people who doesn't believe everything he reads, especially posts which include the question, "Honestly, can we talk?" I put more weight on personal experience. I have met a lot of Muslim people and found them to be quite conservative. They are not conservatives in the political sense of minimal government, but more like our domestic Republican's brand of conservatism, where the government is expected to support and maintain the lifestyle to which they are accustomed. Except for the turbans and prayer rugs, most Muslims would find the Republican party a very comfortable fit.

I can't say the average Muslim is not different from me, but I do know to whom they are very similar.

Nigerian Jihadist Group Boko Haram Designates America A Terror Target…

Ironically, the Obama administration has refused to designate Boko Haram a foreign terrorist organization.

(CNSNews.com) – The leader of the Nigerian jihadist group Boko Haram – which the State Department so far has refused to designate as a foreign terrorist organization – boasted Monday that it was now strong enough to “comfortably confront” the United States.

Boko Haram is not only fighting the cause of Islam in Nigeria, Abubakar Shekau said in a video message, but also against the leaders of the U.S., France and all other countries that do not rule according to the teachings of the Qur’an, the Lagos Guardian daily reported.

Shekau also claimed responsibility for a spate of recent deadly attacks, threatened more, and said his group’s firepower now exceeded that of the Nigerian military.

Premium Times, an Abuja-based media group, translated other portions of his message from the local Hausa language.

“Let the world know that we have been enjoined by Allah to kill the unbelievers,” Shekau said. “We shall continue to kill those who strive to stand against the will of Allah by opposing shari’a. We don’t mind if we die doing this because it is even a blessing for us to die in this cause and gain paradise.”
