I recommend that you download your free copy of Frédéric Bastiat's Sophisms of the Protectionists and learn why your threads this morning are so terribly wrong.
It's not a terribly long read, nor does it employ any tough language that a self-made millionaire philanthropist will not be able to follow or fathom.
But it is simply true that all of your protectionist ideas, and this has been known since right before the turn of the 19th century, in the dying embers of mercantilism, do nothing but raise the prices of the protected economy causing it great harm, stagnation, and eventual collapse. Each sophism (or Wicksteed's "system" or the logician's fallacy) is addressed in detail, but most of them are encompassed in the parable of the Broken Window...
