Cool Fake bf

It's the 1990's

-An extremely popular southern country singer, is a lesbian. Rumors start to fly.
-Her publicist plans a fake relationship with a guy she went to high school with.

I always thought being single (and "available") was the best career choice for singers. Or maybe that's only for "idols" that can't really sing.

Anyway wonder what you want to do with it.

And in a related note, from the real world: nowadays there is a big market in China for boyfriend/girlfriend rental. Particularly around Chinese New Year, when college/university students go back to their home town, and their parents pretty much expect them to bring a bf/gf with them. In some cases, they're not even welcome back home if they don't have any potential "marriable material" with them.

I think the idea of artists and singers needing to appear available, and the kind of fantasy that entails is an interesting one worth exploring. And the fake boyfriend could be an interesting route to do that...

What about this variation:

Do get rid of the lesbian rumours floating around, she has to kiss a guy in public. Her management tries to hire a guy who plays her boyfriend. But she says, it wouldn't work, because she never would kiss a strange guy in public.

Finally, her management suggests, that her brother (who is unknown by the public) pretends to be her bf. So they do.

They walk around some red carpet event and all the photographers take pictures of them. Of course, all the reporters keep asking about her boyfriend and the lesbian rumours. Finally, the reporters even say: if he really is your boyfriend, you should kiss him.

So she kisses her brother and all the photographers go wild, taking even more pictures. Then, the reporter asks for some more kisses and so they kiss - with tongue. But suddenly, one of the reporters says "hey, who do you try to fool? We know he is your brother ..."

Great idea, I find that's it's unrealistic though. But I'm going to be open minded and run with it. Let's say it was a brother really no one knew about. Her dad cheated and had another child, a son. She found out without her dad knowing, but she became good friends with her half brother.

-Now the reporter has done his research, he blackmails her, but he surprises her by blackmailing her into a no strings atached hands off date. Not a tell all interview a date.
