I believe I discovered lit in the fall of '01, first the stories, then chat where I met some of you forum people. Lauren Hynde dragged me to the poetry forum in 2002, so it has been 11+ years overall. Non, je ne regrette rien.

I started reading stories here sometime in high school - I'm going to say I was about 16 or so; 10 years ago. I vaguely was aware of the message boards but I was on a different one then and never bothered to join here.
I joined the boards recently because there aren't many left online and I got nostalgic and curious.

Summer/Fall of 2000. Lurked for a bit, read some stories, registered a few months later. I won't say it was better back then, because I'm not hung up on the good ol' days, but it was friendlier. Of course, with that shiny exterior comes a lot of people talking shit behind the scenes. So yeah, it probably sucked just as much back then, too.
