Could you write almost anytime, or do you have to be sexually aroused to be able to write? I do not write much, but I have to be at least a little aroused to write, and then writing makes me hornier. Maybe other people can or prefer to write when they are not horny. What are your experiences?

I can write either way. What I tend to notice is the sex scene might be slightly hotter if I'm getting worked up, but afterwards there are a whole lot more mistakes to correct.

I might be when I have the original idea, but by the time I've started writing, and certainly by the time I finish the first draft and begin editing - No.
The idea could be erotic. Getting it to be a complete story is not.

By the time I did the final edit on my 240k Circle Novel I found I was beginning to come up with ways to kill all the characters because I was really starting to hate them by then.

Actually that exercise came in handy. IN a spin off I had one die, but it turned out to be a dream sequence.
I learned awhile ago to never discard an idea and I have a folder on my lap top called "Fragments"
Just some things I wrote I had no use for at the time, but borrow from extensively when writing a longer piece.

I can write either way. The only problem I have is that if I am horny than what I'm writing will usually make it worse so then I have to stop writing to sort that out

But I do need to think that the actual concept is arousing. That's the motivator for me.
