Ladies: Did you keep your maiden name after marrying?

I took my husbands last name. For my fathers sake, I felt bad that our last name would die with us, as he had no sons to carry it on. But I also could never have asked my husband to let our sons keep my name instead of his.

I took his last name legally but kept my maiden name professionally. When we got divorced I was going to take my maiden name back but because my kids were young I knew it would create issues with schooling and such.


When my youngest hits the next milestone age I plan on going to the courthouse and getting my name legally changed back. I'm tired of this name and it brings me nothing but bad feelings.
