Haircuts?!

Help me .....my hubby seems to think I pay too much for my haircuts. I suspect however, it's just because it's getting shorter each time.

Anyway, I'm curious to know how much do you pay and what do you usually have done?

I just paid $200 for my daughter to have a cut and color (she has really long hair) and I had just a cut...and that was before the tip!

PS - husband does NOT know how much I spend!

Small town girl - under 20.00

but, now that I got some color......even after she's done with her internship - 15.00 plus tip.

Still cheap...but I do tip her well!

I pay $30 for mine and you've seen my hair. My wife pays $130 for hers. I think that's just a cut. It's $200 with colour, I believe.

And you do pay too much because the last time they cut your hair they butchered it and cut too much off and you looked like Dora's the Explorer.

$140 when it's all said and done. Cut and highlight. I think it's ridiculous, but what I've noticed is you get what you pay for when it comes to a good color job. I can.get it done cheaper, but I'm not into the chunky color or Courtney Love "do"..

Some of my best friends are hairdressers...so a bottle of wine, to share, and a fifty gets me whatever I may need. But when I do have to pay, I budget about $200 for color and a trim.

I pay $130 + tip for cut and color. $40 for just a haircut. I've been going to the same lady for 10 years and she's never changed the price on me though.

Wow, seems to vary quite a lot. I usually pay $170 for foils, cut, style. I'm about to pay $250 for ballyage and trim.

And pmann, fuck off Dora the explorer! You basically pay $1 per hair!

I have long hair and I don't color or anything like that. so its just a cut and style.
$60 + generous tip.

on the flip side... I cut my husband's hair - so nothing out of pocket... but he always owes me. lol

I barter with a friend who owns a small salon for mine & my husbands. I do her books. His would normally be $25 per, mine would range from $60 to $160 per depending on what I get done. We still tip her, plus I give her a nice gift certificate each Christmas as I'm getting the better end of the deal.

While I get to about $200 for daughter cut and color (her hair is to the middle of her back), I have super short hair and my cut and color runs about $130 before tip. Been going to the same stylist for 10 years and would pay whatever she wanted to charge me...it's so worth it once you find someone who gets it.

$60 bucks for a haircut and blow dry (no color). Plus tip. I have long hair and bangs. I only get a haircut about twice a year; I trim my bangs myself in between visits.

I can't remember the last time I had a haircut. I think I've had three in the time I've lived in the States (7 years). My sister is a hairdresser, so I normally get forced to sit down and take a hair cut each time I return home. My husband, on the other hand, spends $45 (including tip) at his barber every month.

I pay about $80 for mine (which includes the tip). I don't color my hair and my hair cut is short.

Let's see- usually it's around $25 to $30. That's for a shampoo and trim plus eyebrow shaping/waxing.

I bought hair clippers about 25 years ago. Paid about $10.00 the first time. I've replaced them a couple times over the years but all totaled it would be less than $100 over the 25 years I've been cutting it myself.

$12 plus tip once a month. I go in with short hair and leave with short hair so my stylist charges me the men's rate.

Color will always vary a great deal based on where you're getting it done and what they're charging you for. Multiple shades will run you more some places and not others. The cut most places shouldn't run you over $40. Now when you add shampooing and styling again some places will charge for it others wont.

Only reason I know all this and more is because she does hair and my ex wife did hair at one point.

$12 plus tip (I usually double the price for the tip, because she actually comes to my house and I appreciate her time. Also tend to send her away with baked goods! lol )

One of my cousins' is a stylist, so usually a bottle of wine for her to trim my hair. I don't cut it often. A really good bottle if she is coloring it or adding highlights.
