Hi, lukeyboy1974. Welcome to the community.
My post may be lengthy, but I will do my best to answer your questions.
Congratulations on your interest in writing erotic fiction.
First, I think it's important to understand the difference between a porn story and an erotic story. They both include sex, but an erotic piece is more plot driven. There are conflicts and characters to develop. These things are important in an erotic story because you want your reader to connect with your characters and with your story. That's not to say that there is no place in the world for porn stories, there is...and some people would rather just "get right down to business" and not bother with a detailed plot and character relationships.
Because erotica branches off into so many genres, it can be overwhelming as to where to start. My advice is to start here, on this very site. The main page offers an ocean of stories in many different genres. Read through them (
click here ) to find a subject that speaks to you - whether it's anal, threesomes, incest. Most times, people find it easier to write about a genre that they are familiar with, so your story could even be written from personal experience. Now, I want to add that you are reading others' work for inspiration and hopefully to get some basics on how erotica is written, not to take their story and use it as your own. That's stealing. But if the idea of getting inspired from the main site is too overpowering, then I would suggest you try writing exercises in the form of prompts. Visit the Authors' Hangout : Writer's Challenges and Exercises. (

The next thing you want to keep in mind is that it may be necessary for you to do a bit of research. A story, any story, should be believable. If it isn't, you're going to risk losing your reader. Familiarize yourself with the human body and the sounds that are made during intercourse. For example, say you want to write a story and you want your male character will be using a cock ring at some point, but your knowledge of them is minimal. You'll want to inform yourself about what it is and how it's placed on the penis before you go writing free-handed about it. If this is your character's first time wearing a cock ring, will he have difficulty putting it on? Will he make a face once he's erect and the ring is tight around him?
As far as the length of your work: This is up to you. Your story can be as long or as short as you want it to be, but for submitting stories to the main site, there is a guideline that states they are not accepting stories under 750 words. (

Sharing your stories is also up to you. Your stories can be written for your pleasures only, or to share with a significant other. If you want to submit them to the main site, I would consider using Literotica's Volunteer Editor program. They help you improve your work, especially if you're thinking about submitting a story on the main site. (

If you think that writing erotica is for you, then I encourage you to just write. Open your documents folder, or a notepad and just write. It doesn't have to make sense at first, that's the beauty of writing: You can go back and change a sentence or a whole scene if you wish. You will also use take that opportunity to catch a misspelled word, add a comma here and there...things like that.
Above all, have fun. You never know where your characters will take you.
be golden.
