Telling Him the Truth

She was thankful when Jared joined her fully clothed. She would not have been able to hold back much longer else wise. She smiled as he joined her on the couch. They were absorbed in the game and were laughing and having a great time together. When they pulled off the last minute play to win the game they both cheered and embraced in a hug. She laughed and smiled at him. "This is so much fun.... It's really nice to have someone to watch games with." Her mind was thinking of all the other things that would e nice to do with him but she pushed the thoughts aside. She looped her arms around his neck and smiled, "alright mister, I remember you mentioning the promise of food... After that victory, I'm ready."

Watching the game with Kali had been fun. The game was close from the beginning and the Cardinals had scored the winning touchdown in the closing seconds of the game. He hadn't forgotten the dinner date they had planned. At the time, he hadn't thought about where they might go. Did she like Italian? Or seafood? Or......? He had no idea. Maybe he should ask her.

"Would you like to dress up or would you rather go casual?" he asked. Either way would be fine with him. Being with Kali was the most important thing. They might have a drink after, then come home and snuggle up on the couch to watch a movie. Jared really liked this girl, and the feeling seemed to be mutual.

Kali smiled at him, "lets get dressed up.. I don't get to do it very often." It really hasn't mattered where they went she just wanted to spend time with him. They both stood to go get ready. She had showered already so she went to the bedroom and slipped out of her clothes so she was standing in front of the mirror wearing her Lacey bra and matching panties as she started doing her makeup and hair. She didn't go overboard with her makeup, she really didn't need it, just to make her green eyes pop a little more. She used her curling iron to create loose curls. She stood in front of her open closet tryin to decide the perfect dress. She went with a red one. It clung to her body with a plunging neckline and a low cut back. She slipped into a pair of black heals and went back to the mirror to examine her handy work. She heard him come into the room and she finally looked up at him thru the mirror and smiled at him

Standing just inside the doorway, Jared smiled into her reflection in the mirror. The look in his eyes let her know that he approved of her selection. Her well-toned dancer's body was complemented by the low-cut back a the plunging neckline. He made a pathetic attempt at a wolf whistle, and they both laughed. He had a blazer in his duffel, along with a pair of khakis and a button up shirt. It probably didn't matter what he wore. His dinner companion would catch everybody's attention. She already had his before she even stood up.

He knew of a nice little restaurant on the north side of town. The food was excellent and the service was first-rate. The dining room lights were turned down low and it offered a lot of privacy to it's patrons. Jared couldn't think of a better place to take his beautiful dinner date.

She smiled at him. He cleaned up really good. She could tell he liked what he saw and it made her feel good. She followed him outside and got into his car. They chatted and laughed on the way to the restaurant. They pulled into the lot and climbed out of the car. She linked her arm thru his as they walked inside. Kali had only been to the place once. They were seated at a secluded table and she smiled at him in approval. "I'm really glad we are doing this..."

The waitress escorted us to a table toward the back, in a smaller dining room with three small tables with a view of the fountain outside. No one else was in there and the were no reserved signs anywhere. After we were seated, the waitress lit the lightly scented candle and asked if we wanted drinks. "Does a carafe of wine sound good to you?"

The setting was ideal. If we were in the main dining room everyone would have been staring at her. Kali's dress was stunning and she moved with an easy grace. The male diners looked up when she approached, with their forks halfway to their mouths. Kali didn't seem to notice. Jared thought he must be the luckiest man alive. If it weren't for her, he would probably be drowning his sorrows at the bar. He'd be wallowing in self-pity and anger, which never go good with alcohol. But instead he had spent the afternoon with Kali. She made him forget his troubles.

Kali didn't notice any looks as they walked to their table. She was too busy enjoying the fact that te two of them were finally together.

When he asked about wine she smiled,"that would be perfect." Everything about the situation could be summed up with that word, perfect. The waitress brought the wine and poured them each a glass. Sipping from hers and nodded her head in approval. "Def the right call."

She couldn't help but to smile as she liked over at him thru the dimly lite candle. How many times had she thought about doing this same thing with him?.. Too many to count.

If anyone had told Jared that he would be here with Kali tonight, he would have told them to get their heads examined. That didn't mean that Kali would not be a good dinner partner for someone. He was sure she would be. He just hadn't imagined that "someone" would be him. Now he wouldn't trade places with any man on Earth.

Raising his glass to hers, Jared toasted "Here's to hoping that we may share romantic dinners forever." It was too early to be talking about forever, but she just seemed to keep doing everything right. He could still dream, couldn't he?

Kali smiled at his comment. They sipped their wine and the conversation flowed so easily between them. When the waitress approached them again for their dinner orders she commented, "I just have to say you two make a gorgeous couple. I think all my tables are talking about you two... And my co workers too." Kali blushed, "well umm... Thank you. That's flattering." She looked over at Jared and couldn't help but to laugh a little.

Jared could laugh about their situation, but he was also flattered by the waitress' admission. He could easily see why Kali could be part of an amazing couple. He had a more difficult time understanding why he would be her dinner partner. But it probably didn't matter. He was beginning to understand that Kali was not "just another girl". She was beautiful, and she wanted to be with him. What did she see in Jared? He was a loser in his own mind. He thought he was in love with a girl, and he thought she loved him. What a fool he had been. Kali had known that Amy was cheating. She kept the secret for her BFF, whether she approved or not. But she wouldn't lie to Jared. Their relationship was still developing and there were plenty of pit falls ahead. Still, Jared sensed that they belonged together.

It was amazing that other people thought they made a good couple. Of course Kali had always thought that, but forced it out of her head ur to the circumstances. She looked over at him when the waitress walke away and smiled. "I can admit it now because of the situation, but I've always had a thing for you. In fact, I was the one who originally brought you to Amy's attention... I didn't think she would turn around a make a move after I told her but we both know how she is.. So I just let it go.. I couldn't compete with her anyway." She smiled at him again. The candle light and intimate setting along with the wine was makin for the best date she had been on... Along with the fact that she was there with the guy she had wanted to be with for a long time.

She didn't know what their future would have in store but she knew she wanted their futures to be linked for a very long time. He was someone she could see herself spending every day for the rest of her life with... But was she getting ahead of herself? Was this all just too fast? She hoped that wasn't the case.

As he thought back on it, Jared wondered how he could have missed it all. Why hadn't he seen "that look" in Kali's eyes before he hooked up with Amy. He was not a star-struck teenager and he should have seen the signals that Kali had been trying to send him. As he thought back on those days, he had to be embarassed. He hooked up with Amy without considering that she was so wrong for him in so many ways.

However, Kali was wrong about one thing. She could compete with Amy. She was equally beautiful and she was probably more talented. Amy always loved the spotlight, and she revelled in it. Kali didn't really want it to shine on her. But if it did, her beauty and grace would win plenty of admiration. Was it possible that she still felt the same way about him two years later?

Their dinners arrived and they enjoyed the meal and te wine. Once the wine was emptied and their plates cleared the waitress dropped the bill at the table and Kali smiled at him. "Thank you for this Jared. This has been an amazing night."

The bill had been paid and they walked thru the restaurant and out to the car. When he opened her door for her she couldn't help it, she leaned in and kissed his lips softly before climbing into the car.

Jared could still taste Kali's soft kiss as he walked around to the driver's side door. He hadn't expected it but it felt so right. He should go back to his apartment tonight in order to find out what he had left. But he didn't really want to. He would rather spend the night in Kali's bed, holding her warm body in his arms.

Their dinner date had been particularly enjoyable. Kali never seemed to notice the other diners when she turned every man's head in the main dining room. He had tried to signal her that he wanted to see her again (and again). He should have done that 2 years ago. He should have seen that she was beautiful inside and out. Now he wondered if he might get a second chance, even if he was undeserving.

Kissing him just felt natural to her. He drove back to her place with few words even needing to be said between them. She wasn't sure what his plan was. He did have his own apartment but it had felt so damn good to fall asleep with his arms wrapped around her, and to wake up and see him there again. Tomorrow was Monday and that meant work. She wouldn't think about it for now. For now she was going to live in the moment. He pulled into the driveway and they walked to the door hand in hand.

As they came closer to Kali's apartment, Jared thought about all that had happened that day. It was close to surreal, with a multitude of highs and lows. That kind of emotional roller coaster should drain any man. But Jared still felt energized. He had rediscovered the girl that he had overlooked before. As they walked in hand-in-hand to her door, he really wanted to stay with her.

It was still early when they walked inside. They had time to snuggle up and watch a movie or watch a rerun of Sex and the City. He really wanted to feel her lips against his again. The kiss outside the restaurant had made him hungry for more.

Kali unlocked the door and led him inside. "I'm going to change and then we can watch a movie or something... Just relax tonight." She walked down the hallway to the bedroom where she stripped out of te sexy dress and into a pair of short shorts and a fitted tshirt. She came back to the living room and curled up on the couch. She couldn't wait to feel his body against hers again.

Jared had made a detour at the bathroom while Kali was changing. When he came out he had a great view of her long legs as she settled into the couch. Her short shorts and fitted tshirt clung to her lithe body. If this was how Kali relaxes, he decided to do the same. He quickly got out of his jacket and shirt, then slipped out of his khakis. He pulled a pair of gym shorts out his duffel and a tshirt that read "Property of University of Arizona Athletic Department".

When he came out of the bedroom he saw that Kali had already loaded a movie into her DVD player. It didn't matter what movie it was-he and Amy never watched movies together. Before Titanic last night, the last movie he had seen was Forrest Gump. He wondered if he could concentrate on any movie if they were snuggled up on the couch.

She smiled as he joined her on the couch. Feeling his arms wrap around her she curled up against him. They started watching the movie, she traced random patterns lightly on his thigh as they watched. She really wasnt even paying attention to what was on the screen.

There was a movie playing but Jared couldn't figure out what was happening on the screen. Kali had curled up into his arms, seemingly content just to be there. It seemed so natural to cuddle up like this. He revelled in the feel of her warm body and the smell of her hair. The last eight hours they had spent together were the best eight hours he could remember.

Kali did not appear to be too interested in the movie, as she laid in his arms with one hand on his thigh. He ran his hand through her hair, lifting it up in order to kiss her cheek. She murmurred her approval as his lips closed in on hers. Turning her head slightly, Jared placed his lips on hers, gently at first.....

She smiled as he kissed her lightly. The kiss took a turn after a few seconds. The nights build up comin to the surface. His lips on hers. She deepened the kiss as her hands ran over his body. The movie long forgotten. It continued for a few more minutes before thy stopped for air. "That's never going to get old." She smiled at him. As he pulled her to him again she moved into his lap as they resumed kissing.

His left hand slipped around her waist, his fingers feeling her bare skin under the fitted shirt. The scent of her perfume wafted in to his nose, mixing with the fresh smell of her hair. Jared didn't have much trouble making this choice. He didn't want this to be short-term either. After such a great day together, making love to the beautiful Kali seemed like the perfect way to end it. Cuddling on the couch and sharing hot kisses had inflamed his passion, and he wanted her badly.

Kissing her one more time, Jared whispered to Kali "There's no way this will be short-term, baby. I've never been with a woman that just feels so right before." He dropped his hands to the hem of Kali snug fitting shirt, raisng it over the swell of her breasts and over her head as she raised her arms for him. Stepping back a couple of steps, he gazed upon her naked upper torso. "You are so beautiful....."

She smiled as she stepped back to him running her hands down his chest and stomach before pulling his shirt up and over his head tossing it to the side. As the kiss continued she fell back into the bed pulling him down on top of her.
