Kali smiled and nodded her head. "Great. I like the company." She walked over to the media cabinet and opened the doors, "what's your pleasure?" She looked over her shoulder at him. "I'm game for anything at this point."
She really was glad he was staying. She knew she shouldn't be but that didn't change the facts.

Jared didn't really know much about the movies. He had seen Forrest Gump several times, but he was in the dark after that. Then he remembered that he had never seen Titanic and it was supposed to be good. It might be nice to watch it together. All he knew about the Titanic was that it sank. Any movie would have been fine as long as it extended their time together.
"Do you have Titanic? I hear it was a great movie but I've only seen clips from it. If you don't have it, pick something. I'm pretty much open to anything".

She smiled laughing, "oh hell, your the only guy I've ever heard of actually wanting to watch that movie... Of course I'm taking you up on it!" She grabbed it from the shelf putting it in the player. She came back to the couch taking a seat once again. This time she sat a little closer to him. As te movie got started she leaned over a little leaning against him lightly.

"I always wanted to know how it felt to be on a sinking ship." Jared responded to her teasing. She would never believe that Jared could be so clueless. If he had chosen to be a bit devious, he might have chosen some mushy romance, but he couldn't think of any. He felt the contact as Kali seemed to move even closer to him. He hoped that she knew that he would be unable to resist her.

the story started to develop and they were both focused on the movie. It was funny he had picked one of the longest movies she knew of. She snuggled against him as they watched. It felt really good to have someone to just hang out with and watch movies. She curled her legs up under her with her head leaned against his shoulder. The love story part always touched her heart and she tried nit to do the whole girly thing and get mushy but it was a good love story. She smiled, "bet you didn't quite plan on the romance side of the movie huh?"

Kali was right. He didn't know that there would be anything romantic happening when a ship was sinking in the North Atlantic. Jared was expecting more suspense and bedlam. He wasn't expecting her to curl up next to him either, nor did he expect that she would lay her head on his shoulder. Kali's soft lips were dangerously close to his. Jared knew he should pull back before this went any further. When he looked down at Kali's beautiful face, he knew he wouldn't.

she smiled at him as the movie continued. The drama continued to unfold as the ship hit the iceburg and it started to sink. She knew what would be coming but it didn't mean it didn't still make her sad. As families and love ones were seperated on the life boats Kali turned her face into his shoulder to avoid watching. She laughed at herself, "sorry, stupid sad movie... I'm a sucker what can I say?"
Jack was floatinf in the water as rose clung to him on the piece of drift wood, Kali felt the tears burning her eyes. she looked over at Jared as she wiped her eyes, "this is all your fault!" She laughed at herself. "Sorry. I'm sure you didn't want to so end time with s crying female."

Jared chuckled to himself as Kali turned her head into his chest. Reaching behind her, he pulled her in closer and ran his fingers through her long dark hair. He shifted his body so he could pull her into his arms. The movie was touching in it's own way. The immature kid who had snuck on board became a hero when the ship started to go down. Kali finally turned her face back to the movie, but she remained in Jared's arms. She felt so good there, and he gently stroked her flanks as the movie continued.

Kali laughed at how silly she must look cryin over a movie. "Sorry, didn't mean to lose it on you." She smiled at him drying her tears.

"I think you look adorable", he told Kali as he looked in to her teary eyes. Jared could remember crying over a movie only once: when Jenny died near the end of Forrest Gump. He wasn't one who wore his emotions on his sleeve. At the same time, he liked Kali's show of emotion. He brought his head down and kissed both of her eyes and smiled at her at close range. His lips descended once more, but this time they fell on her slightly parted mouth. His kiss was tender and soft, and he pulled back long enough to ask her "What did I do to deserve this?"

Kali smiled when he complimented her. SHe felt his lips softly kiss her teary eyes. Then his lips touched hers. The kiss was feather soft but it was there. It surprised her and it was over before she knew it. She smiled at him, letting her forehead rest against his as she shook her head exhaling a soft shaky breath. "I don't know what to say Jared."

"You don't have to say anything, Kali. All that matters is that you're here in my arms." Jared held her trembling body close as he looked into her loving eyes. He had been blinded by Amy's charm when he should have known better. He doubted that Amy ever had the capacity to love him. She was shallow and so was her love for him. He never saw "that look" in her eyes. He had been an idiot when he overlooked Kali before. Would she give him a second chance?

Kali smiled and leaned her forehead against his. She took a shaky breath. "Thank you Jared. That makes me feel alot better...." she looked at him and smiled. Her lips lightly brushed against his again before she pulled back a little. "I'm not trying to rush or push anything...... I promise."

Feeling Kali's warm body in his arms was so comforting to Jared. When he came to her apartment that Saturday evening, he never thought that he would still be here at 1:30 A.M. He could have never expected to be looking down at her pretty frace, wanting so badly to kiss those sweet lips again. Jared didn't want to leave, and Kali wasn't going to ask him to. They would wake up in each others' arms in the morning. He hoped there would be many more.
He smiled at the thought that Kali could be rushing him. He was worried that he was rushing her. Her friends would warn her against getting involved with a man on the rebound. Let them think whatever they want.
He had one thing left to do before he could turn his full attention to her. Picking up his cellphone, he left a text for Amy. It read: Staying at a friend's tonight. Would like you to be moved out by 6 P.M. Making up is not an option. "Are you sure that you want to do this?" Kali asked him. "Couldn't be any more sure", he replied. Leaning in to her, he kissed her lips lightly one more time.

Kali smiled when he said he was sure. She kissed him back lightly. It was like finding the missing puzzle piece that she had been looking for. It was perfect. She smiled at him again, "comeon, you need to rest... After today it's what you need" she stood up an held out her hand taking his and pulling him up with her. She kept his hand in hers as she walked him to the bedroom. She leather sweatpants fall to the floor and stepped out of them, standing in her tank top and Lacey thing as she pulled the blanket back. She got under the blanket and looked over at him, "we'll, what are you waiting for?"

Smiling at Kali, Jared pulled his jersey over his head then stepped out of his jeans. Her eyes traveled down his body; she had seen him in his swim trunks at pool parties that they had attended but this was different. His boxer briefs were snug fitting and did little to hide his assets. He noticed that her eyes lingered there before returning to his face. He was sure that Kali had caught him checking out her charms before.
Kali was right about one thing: the day had been emotionally exhausting. Tomorrow wasn't going to be any easier. He realized that his relationship with Amy was strained to the limit, but he didn't see the end coming so suddenly. He'd rather not see Amy at all, but he would have to. He might have to deal with a teary apology or, even worse, some denial on her part. It wouldn't change anything. If she had told him that she was seeing another man, they could have split up amicably. Instead she tried to hide it, and had succeeded for a time. That time had run out.
Slipping into Kali's bed he immediately pulled her back into his arms. Feeling her in his arms was so natural. There would be some tough days ahead of him but they would have been much harder if Kali wasn't going to be there with him. She was special.

Kali smile as he wrapped her in his arms again once he was in the bed with her. She curled up against him, her head on his chest listening to the steady beating of his heart. "The tough stuff will be here soon enough, lets just relax for tonight." She closed her eyes knowin that her thoughts will be centered on one topic only. She felt safe and secure in his arms. She heard his breathing shift indicating that he had fallen asleep. She drifted off and didn't stir until the morning. From a distance she could hear a phone ringing. She opened her eyes and smiled when she turned her head and saw Jared sleeping next to her.

Jared laid in bed with Kali, comforted by her warm body curled up against his. A lot had happened in the last twenty four hours and many disjointed thoughts were passing through his mind. He had no way to know if Amy had read his text yet. He didn't even know where she was. They had a joint account that would need to be cancelled; he was pretty sure that she had cleaned it out anyway. There were some other loose ends to take care of, but his exhausted mind could not think straight. Soon he drifted off to sleep.
Tomorrow would be Sunday, and Jared didn't need to work. Neither did Amy or Kali. There was no reason that Amy couldn't get out of his apartment. As a realtor, she would have somewhere that she could move right into. Everything would work out one way or another. And he had Kali to come home to. That's all he needed to know.

Kali smiled at him. "Morning Sunshine." She sat up and look at him as he held his eyes closed to extend time just a little longer. She got out of the Bed and slipped her sweats on. She went Down to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee, it would make her feel a little more human. She knew he had a lot of things he would need to handle but she had a feeling he would be back at some point. She would be that person he needed when he needed her. She was thankful that it was Sunday and she didn't have to do anything specific .

It took a while for Jared to clear the cobwebs. He heard Kali when she woke him up, but he had a hard time getting his head around it. Why was Kali waking him up? Where was Amy? Where was he anyway? Shaking the cobwebs out, he could smell the aroma of the coffee brewing. He could see Kali moving around the kitchen in her sweatpants. As it came back to him, Jared realized that he was waking up where he wanted to be. And he was waking up with the girl he wanted to wake up with.
Like many other men, Jared had been clueless about women. He thought that he had loved the women in his life, and he thought that they loved him. He didn't know any better. His parents didn't love each other. They didn't love him either; he was just a pawn in their game of hurting each other. Jared had enjoyed some dynamite sex with Amy, and Judy before her, and Emmie before that. He mistook passion for love, and they let him. He hadn't had any sex with Kali yet, but he sensed that she truly loved him. Had she loved him all along? How could he have missed it?
Padding out to the kitchen in his black boxerbriefs, he stepped behind Kali and hugged her from behind. She rested her hands on his and smiled warmly into his eyes. She had the look of love in her eyes. He'd never seen that look in a woman's eyes before.

She smiled when his arms wrapped around her. "Hey you." When she looked at him he was giving her a look she didn't recognize. It felt good to have him there with her. She realized this was what she wanted all along. She reached onto te shelf and pulled down coffee cups. The smell of the coffee had already started to work it's magic. "How'd you sleep?" She smiled

"I remember holding you in bed last night, then the next thing I knew I heard you murmur 'Morning Sunshine'. I thought I was still dreaming." Jared let Kali go long enough to let her pour coffee for each of them. He took his cup to the couch, letting his bare feet rest on the coffee table. Patting the cushion next to him, he watched her snuggle in next to him. Kali had opened the curtains and they watched the city come to life on a warm Sunday morning. There were no words needed as they shared a few moments of peace.
Jared would have to retrieve his phone and see what kind of texts or voicemails he would have to answer, and what ones to delete. He would get around to that but there was no hurry as far as he was concerned. Turning to Kali, he looked into her sweet face and asked "I don't know how I can ever repay you for this."

Kali smiled as she leaned against him. "There's nothing to repay. This is just something that I want... I will always be here for you Jared. Anything you need." She smiled at him as she looked out the window from the couch. It felt like a dream to be in Jared's arms. She knew there would be some tough times ahead of them but she was going to enjoy the good times while they were happe ing. She didn't want to take anything for granted, they had wasted enough time.

Jared realized that this was what he wanted too. Kali's love was unconditional. She had pledged to support him with no strings attached. She did not have expectations that he could never meet, like Amy did. Kali was content to snuggle up with him when they nursed their first coffee of the day, and she had been content to watch college football with him on a Saturday night. She was special.
"Can we do a second cup before I have to take care of business?" he asked. Jared took both empty cups back to the coffeepot and filled them back up. He knew that he would need to shower up and change. He hoped that Amy would be gone when he got back to his apartment. He wanted to get it over with. There was another girl in his future, and he was ready to get on with it.

Kali smiled and nodded her head as he refilled their coffee cups. She took a sip from the cup and looked over at him. "You going to come back later today?" She had a feeling she already knew the answer. She leaned against him again as they drank their coffee. She had never met anyone else who was ok with her just sitting around in sweats with no makeup or anything and not want anything in return. She realized she wanted to make this a regular occupancy but she was probably moving too quickly.
