Mad Libs

Let's try some holiday-themed Mad Libs. These are sort of like an Exquisite Corpse, you will see, but way easier.

Just supply the words on the list. Anyone can play--and you can be as profane, silly or profound as you like. There are no wrong choices.

For the first one we need one each of the following. When all the words are in I'll post the Mad Lib.

I'll be jangly for Christmas,
You can elongate on me.
Please have some beef jerky and mistletoe,
And mirrors on the tree.

Christmas Eve will wassail me,
Where the Buddha-light gleams,
I'll be enlightened for Christmas
If only in my dreams.

Sing along!

You want to start the next one? I love mad libs: used to get the books of them when I was a kid. They're so delightfully wacky. I especially like the last two lines of our first one.

Jangly bells, jangly bells,
Wassail all the way.
Oh! what fun to elongate
On your beef jerky in a sleigh.
Reflected in the mirror bells
Joggle Buddha belly till I say;
Oh my God! enlightenment
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Have a holly jangly Kwanzaa
retail season elongates
wassailing indeterminately
as Buddha and beef jerky wait their turn
for a holly jangly something
that mirrors another holiday
until we're all enlightened one day
..
thought there was meat here looks like I was wrong; it's cheese.

I love this carol and now I hate myself. With apologies to any believers I may have upset.

Hark the jangly angels sing
Elongate the newborn king.
Wassail on earth and mercy mild,
God and Buddha reconciled.
Joyful all ye mirrors rise,
Enlightened triumph in the skies.
With beef jerky host proclaim
Christ was born in Bethlehem.
Hark the jangly angels sing
Elongate the newborn king.
