Lettuce Turnip The Beet!

I love hearing new artists, old tunes I'd forgotten about, or new imaginings of oldies so, HT, let us turn up the beat! Show us what you're loving, Lit.

At the moment, I can't get enough of this cover of a Whitney Houston track...

I wanna dance with somebody - Bootstraps

Well that's something I thought I'd never here... Wonderwall big band.

This cover of Wonderwall is my favourite cover of it.

Apologies...I missed the point. It's 'covers' you want to hear about.

In that case, it's a great thread! Sorry, sorry, sorry.

Here's one:

The wonderful Jimmy Little (RIP) doing a cover of the Cruel Sea's 'Down Below' as well as a new arrangement of 'Under the Milky Way Tonight' by The Church.
Both are sublime.

Can we make a "No Nickelback" rule in this thread?

That's the beauty of having this in the HT cafe.

I acquired a bag of apples last night. They happen to be quite small and green.

When I saw them this morning I heard in my head Andy Williams voice singing "God didn't make...little green apples....and it don't rain in Indianapolis....in the summertime....

..coming out of the 8-track player in my Dad's 426 Hemi-Powered, Triple-Avocado-Green 1969 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron.

I think you may enjoy these wee songs Rainy, given your penchant for singer-songwriters.
Coincidently, they are all connected, but Ill let you explore that ifn ya want.

Jeff Buckley Hallelujah. There have been a lot of versions of this, some quite popular. But this one, by an artist gone too soon, is haunting and beautiful.

The Frames Neath The Beeches. Every time I hear this song everytime I think of my uncle.

Glen Hansard Drive All Night. You should know this one well Lustrous Precipitation. The original version anyway.

Bloody hell, don't mean to bring the tempo down in here. Gotta turn this Ice Road truck around and head home. I've been away too long, I miss my tribe.

That Led Zeppelin is AWESOME!! I've never seen that, thank you!!

I'm not a fan of Britney Spears but a guy named Marty Casey did a cover of (Hit Me) Baby One More Time that I really like, he changed the whole arrangement.

Isn't it just? As an Aussie, you'd appreciate my selections I think.

This duo, Hat Fitz and Cara, do a version of Fred McDowell's Don't Be Too Late

Aaah Em Spot on. One of my favourite artists right there in the divine Mr Hansard. I love this cover of Britney Spears' Every Time. This cover breaks my heart... every time.

The Frames take me back to Ireland and the life I found there. *dreamy sigh*

And Jeff Buckley, not sure there has been a better voice than that in recent times.

Ooh I will look that one up. I used to buy the Like A Version releases quite religiously then Spotify came along.
